Can aux lights be fixed on the rear view mirror stems in a second gen Busa, are the rear view mirror stems strong enough to take load of aux lights?

Can aux lights be fixed on the rear view mirror stems in a Busa or the stems are not strong enough to take the load/vibrations of the aux lights ?
depends on the physical size and weight of the lamps . . the mirror stems are pretty solid and strong, but why mount the lamps to the mirrors??
Most aux lamps on Busas are fixed to the lower yoke (triple tree) and sit below the headlamp level.
Any particular reason you want to mount them so high?

I was wondering with the lights mounted near to the axle, that is below shock absorbers, won't they get loose with the vibrations directly being felt by the light clams without any damping ?

More than a few on this forum have or had their aux lights mounted in such a fashion with zero reported issues...members like @pashnit and @c10

The mirror stems are strong enough for small lights. The best way to do this would be to fabricate a plate that mounts at the base of the mirror, don't mount it to the stem of the mirror itself. The problem is this is way too high for road lighting, and it will blind oncoming cars while not offering good lighting on the road. Off-road bikes put lights high to see out farther but they do not expect oncoming traffic.

Also, the higher the lights the more the light patterns of the fixture will drift as you lean into turns, often putting the light outside of where you need it. The best location is low, using the fender mounts. This will reduce the amount of movement in the beams.

I have personally found that hanging things from the mirrors loosens the base joint causing the mirror to fold-in at highway speed. I had to replace the whole mirror as a result. Luckily, they are not very expensive.

Yep, had mine mounted down low.
Had them on for a big trip we did.
Took them off again after a while as I wasn’t using them

I have a set on my Concours... the light they generate really doesn't make much difference from the driver seat because the headlight system on these with the H4s I am using now do a great job on low beam.

The biggest and best reason to run them all the time in my opinion is so that other drivers see you coming. With those lights you stand out as something "different" and are therefor likely to get noticed and respected as all motorcyclist deserve as riders in a world filled with cars / cages. I will definitely look into putting a pair on the Busa when I get it back on the road. I consider it a good way to increase the power of self preservation.
