the funny thing was is that I wasn't in my neighborhood and was driving on the other side of town where I don't drive normally.

I also go right between my local police dept and county jail EVERYDAY going to work and have officers crossing the street constantly beside me and they never even turn their head.

...know what ya mean, brah. I had limo tint on my truck for over 6 years, no one ever batted an eye. In fact, I lived next door to a local cop for 5 of those; never a problem.

Then one day, rolling thru town a State Trooper pulls me over for the illegal tint! Go Figure! He said that it was so dark, he wasn't gonna write a fine, I had to show up in court!

Well, I just called the Court talked to the Prosecuter's clerk and asked if there was anything I could do. She said that I could have it removed and bring a picture and they would dismiss it. So, that's what I did. Took before and after pix; citation dismissed.

Not saying that will be the case in all jurisdictions, I just got lucky...

pay and move on. my quick fix is riding with my front windows down as much as possible. when I got tinted, I picked almost the absolute lighted tint possible - but the company doing it made me sign a waiver saying I know this tinting is illegal for street use and is show room only or something like that. did they tell you to get it removed or will they simply ticket you every day for the rest of forever? how does that work?

it is 35% on the front and 20% on the back

70% is the legal limit in iowa which is next to NOTHING on the front.

I'm not taking it off and I"ll just pay the ticket. I guess I won't consider taking it off until I get a few more tickets.

I've heard I can get a form from the eye doctor saying I have light sensitive eyes and get a form saying I have an exception. THinking about trying to get that signed.

Next time you get pulled over for something, make sure to put all of your windows down. I have 5% on my Explorer all the way around, and thats over the factory tint. I do this every time and havent gotten a tint ticket yet.

If you register your Vehicle in a state like ...um, say...South Dakota, and have SD plates on it, than you can have your tint, and I believe tab renewal fees are less $$$ to boot. Seems like a lot of B.S. compared to just paying the $50.00

A bit more on the illegal side if you don't have a valid residence in the state you register your vehicle in.

I got pulled over for the TINT

I had all the windows down before I was stopped.... the officer took a look inside as I met them and turned around to stop me because of it.

No they will ask you to bring the car down for inspection if you do that and start going over it with a fine tooth. They are also going to want and see that the tint was removed, if not they can issue you another ticket.

just pay it and remove it. once your done with court re tint it. i have got 15% on my driver/pass side never been stoped in 2 years yet.
