Can i use a dry 50 shoot and not hurt motor

Thanks the reason I asked about the wet shot was thinking I can get away from fogging the air box it just does not seem to me to be very accurite at getting an even spray to each cylinder? I will try the airbox though since it is almost done.

hey Jeeps
You can run a wet systom if you want,,either are ok and both have their ups and downs,,,but after research on line and from schnitz[the owner and his son ryan] the new dry shot put out the same as the wet,,,the wet is a direct hit, where the dry takes about 1 1/2 secounds to fully kick in,,its easier on the drive train, cush dampeners, chain, sprockets ect, ect,, but,put on yours what you want,,,,I wasleary to about getting a good hit or if it would pass thru the filter and the equal distribution to each cylinder,,,ryan explained it to me,how they do it,,,,by drilling your nozzle hole in the front of the airbox, directly inbetween the ram air inlets, you waste nothing,,at WOT and ram air ,your throttlebodies wide open are sucking that airbox dry,,,and as for ditribution,,when you take you airbox off the bike,,take a close look at the inside configuration,,,its a 2 level box,,,meaning where the air is forced in at the ram air inlets[ where you nozzle is,,,is downstairs on the lower level of tha airbox,,then the air has to travel up thru the square hole in the middle[flapper] to get to the upper floor and then passs thru the air filter then its sucked into the throttle bodies,,,,,your Nos will be even by then,,,,,nice choice,,,,some guys thinks its a waste to have a 1/4 steel braided line comeing from the solonoid to the airbox and use a tiny plastic line the size of a pencil lead,,,I think [ in my case,],that has alot to do with why Im getting such a hard hit when I hit my NOS ,plus it has a nicely tuned map in it to acomindate the NOS.....although the steel braided line looks sweet,,I still used the blsck loom to cover it so it wouldnt rub any wires or hoses along the way,,,,,,but like I said earlier,,,I like both systoms,,,,,,But I opted for the dry, for 2 reasons,,,[1] it was half the price without sacrificeing performance,,,,and [2] I would be breaking up stuff as fast,,,,,,,,ps..I live in the NM area and if you know anyone looking for NOS fills, I have plenty on hand.I do my own refills

It is hard to get out of the back of my mind that the fogger shot before the airbox must be disbersing alot of its purpose as soon as nos hits the air it expands right. So if it is expanding in the airbox are we more like putting cool air into the motor or does it expand again in motor?

It can not expand twice.
The NOS substitutes the air ,and splits at 1.100F in its parts 2 Nitrogen and 1 O (N2O)
The N serves as aditional cooling medium ,as it takes a lot of the burning temp. (Thats also the reason why pure O2 is impossible to use)

At WOT and 11.000 rpm a big bike will suck about 100 l of air per second.
(sample numbers from R1)
Air speed at valves is about 1000 feet/sec

That means the box will be "sucked empty" in about 0.12 seconds

The efect of NOS is that it contains more O2 than normal air. So if the same amount of NOS instead of air is going to the engine , it contains about 15 % more O2. And as its much cooler after expansion it has a higher density(turbo does this by pressing more air and so also more O2 into engine) That fits also to the 15% to enrich the fuel

Hope my terms are not to wrong ,im working on it :lol:
