Cant we all just get along???

You must be talking about "tdcfrank" the thief in the other thread called "scum of the .org" that ripped off another member. That was just an isolated incident, things such as that don't happen much here.
For the most part everyone gets along in this forum great. This is the best hayabusa forum on the web for sure!!
you can't let one bad apple spoil the bushel.:beerchug:

Well said. I'm relatively new to the forum (less than a year) but I've been to MnG's and have been absolutely blown away by the kindness and caring that members here have displayed.

Though I've only met a few members, they have all extended a helping hand or an extremely generous offer my way. Kevin (Firedog5800) took my dogs in for me during a rough time and he did it without asking for anything in return! GREAT GUY. Scar offered me a place to stay and even offered his bike for me to ride while on my visit, all I had to do is get my butt out there. GREAT GUY. Scott (Big Diesel) invited me and my lady to an event here in Milwaukee with himself, his wife, and his friends. GREAT GUY.

Fact of the matter is, every serious member here are great people and occasionaly the jerk off comes through but they don't stay long. Stick around, you'll figure that out soon!

I, for one, am continually shocked that the admins would continue to allow members of this board to perpetuate the insane fallacy that some members continue to express about black/orange being the fastest color when we all know deep in our hearts that

BLUE is the fastest color! :moon:

Now this person has a good grasp on reality!

Several very good points have been made. At the end of the day I would rather people express their ideas, even if I don't agree with them, as opposed to them not expressing themselves. The exchange, even though it may get heated sometimes, often leads to a better understanding of why both sides believe as they do. That understanding helps people form new opinions, sometimes good and sometimes bad. As long as everyone can be an adult and not resort to outright personal attacks I say let everyone be who they are.

I have lurked here for some months, then really became active after witnessing and experiencing the depth of knowledge and passion here. I really enjoy being a part of the org and honestly dont know how I got as far as I did without it.

That being said, I recently read a thread here that I found rife with offensive material. While offensive to me, my culture and where/how I grew up I realize it OBVIOUSLY wasnt offensive to all the others who posted there. :banghead:

I will not mention the thread or individuals because I do not wish to dignify it or them with more attention than is worth. Nor do I wish to publicly embarrass people or get involved in a major flame war.

I choose, however to point out here that we are all part of this org (I presume) because of our passion for motorcycles, particularly the Hayabusa. That passion transcends race, creed, politics, color, place of birth, your favorite music playlist and your culture. A member should not enter a thread and feel that they are in the "wrong place".

While I am not the most "PC" person out there (far from it), I am careful not to be offensive to peoples culture, music, lifestyle, etc. I am not so ignorant to think that my views are the entire worlds views and that those who look, act, eat, differently than I are lesser)

Last time I checked this is not the place to air offensive, racial or disparaging remarks regardless of how funny they may be to you and your cronies.

If for some reason I am wrong and in the wrong place, someone let me know . . .

Well put my friend !

Shean1 and ThrlSkr, come out to LI this spring and ride with us. You'll see the Org's membership is very diverse and that we all get along just fine. As others have said, this place can offend anyone of any color/background at times but not nearly like other sites, especially other busa sites. Heck, you wanna be offended, go check out labusas  The mods/admins here do a great job of policing the place and do let a lot of things slide at times because they dont want to be overbearing but if people complain they go and take action....somethings dont require review and are gone before anyone sees it. If someone says something that offends you, just remeber with 21k members not everyone is going to please everyone else and you can just choose to ignore certain people

Hope to see you at a ride this spring :beerchug:

Hang around and ignore what you don't like. The riff-raff comes and goes eventually. The good people tend to stick around.

:beerchug:

Also, you should report threads that are out of line. The mods don't always see those threads in all of the noise, until someone points them out.

Definitely will hook up for a ride this spring.. As far as being offended, not much offends me, I mostly just shake my head and wonder about folks and how they managed to make it through life thus far without having someone extinguish there life force.........

ThrlSkr:
You are a person with class, ThrlSkr. I agree with what you say here 100%.

If I think or know that I have offended anyone here I do my best to make it right a.s.a.p.,
because that is not what I am here for.
I am here because I love hayabusas, and the community created by the way the board is run,
and the way the moderators handle themselves(with some exceptions here and there) represents my values.

Lately I see some divergence from those values in squabbles erupting here and there.
Is it cabin fever? I don't know.
I do know that I find it disheartening when people try to take advantage of others on the board for financial gain,
for the attainment of "fame" or "celebrity"
or simply just to hurt someone else because they themselves are suffering.
But those things have a way of going away in due time. And if I myself get slapped, I turn the other cheek.

Thank you for speaking up ThrlSkr, and doing so eloquently and with dignity.
That is a model for the rest of us.

My feelings are so hurt I said "Orange and Black" not "black/orange" and this member did not even capitalize the fastest colors.

Ya know what I like best about freedom of speech? It lets you know what the other guy is thinking. Granted, on a privately owned forum such as this, the 2nd amendment does not apply. What I'm saying then is that when you allow people to speak their minds, they usually show what they are.

Then you know.

It's very nice to realize that you don't have to worry entirely too much that people are hiding their innermost evils out of fear of reprisal and that they can just reveal themselves by their words. That isn't to say that any vile crap should be allowed here on this forum. But if it raises its ugly head, then you have a pretty good idea of who you can avoid.

Touche'

And then there are the warped few skilled at obfuscation.
But time reveals their motivations through consistency of action.

Yes, but having speech suppressed overly much only encourages that all the more. If people believe they can "get away" with saying certain things, they are more apt to say them.

Excellent point. I guess that's one reason we have the Supreme Courts in this country - to parse the bits when freedom of speech impinges upon the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

I am not on much. But I am sorry that someone/something offended you. Don't let it put a bad taste in your mouth. However, most of the people on the board are good people and would want to make it right if they did offend you. There is a way to send them a private message. I would say ALL of the people are, but I don't know everyone...but I assume that they are all awesome.
