Carbon Fiber Inner panels

I think what I might try to do is get a hold of some quality REAL Carbon fibre Decals But a big sheet, the I could cut my own shapes, overlap and tuck a little bit and if I am careful I am willing to bet that you couldn't tell they weren't actual Fibre inners...

I'll see if I can find a suitable sticker.
Hey Rev, been there...done that. That was one of the first mods I tried on my bike. You can purchase the CF sheets (replica) from Trick Tape. Stuff looks good and holds real well. I did my triple tree cover before I had it chromed, but it did look good. Anyway, if you go ahead with the project, please post pics.

Will do, The trick is going to be finding real Carbon fiber. But if I find some real Carbon sheets with the right look to them I'll do it and post some pics if it turns out right. I figure doing it this way will probably only run maybe $100-150 tops.

sorry I didn't post back been busy.
Just make sure you are getting all 4 pcs. not just the two by the guages

I'm looking for real carbon fiber sheet. I have found a couple of sources though there is a good bit of work that would be involved if I get raw carbon Fiber. I am still hoping I can find a company that makes a decal with real carbon fibre. We'll see.
I might look into just using the cloth, and then getting molds of the inner fairings and hell prolly a tank bra while I am at it.

I've been in the factory, they say that it will take a lots of time 'cause they're too busy at the moment.
I asked for the price but they say it has to be calculate.
Damn....

Thanks Gio, Ill stay tuned in. Just let us know.

Mike's products are top notch. I have one of thier tanks on my busa. I will be calling them soon to ask about the inner panels as well.

Great job you guys. I would love to see what the price for a set would be. But that damn carbon fiber hump looks great and not too bad for $165. Hmmm. Will definitely have to follow this post real close. I can see a CF hump and inners in my future.

Ill tellya you guys are really helpful, I had spoken to Mike @ catalyst composites last week about fabbing a carbon undertail for the stock tail, and he said that he wouldn't be making them any time soon. Clearwater, if you know Mike, uhhh maybe you can give him convincing word or two about the the under tail as well. Thanks..

They look great but are a little pricey at $575. I would be interested if we could get a group rate somewhere.

Just hittin' this one to send it back to the top of the page. Real interested in the outcome of all of this. Sounds like we may be heading in the right direction with this project. I will definitely be tracking this topic.

This is the email I got from Bonni over at catalystracingcomposites!

{{The design and mold-making are definitely not an issue.  We design all our parts and make all of our own tools as well as private label/R&D for other companies.  I have a set of panels coming from a friend so I will have something to pull from.  I think that the biggest issue for now is time.  It’s the beginning of the season and we are a new company; one guy has designed all of our parts from OEM within the last 8 months.  We’re trying to get the basic bikes tooled up before the season and there are a few things, like the panels, that aren’t top priority.  We’re finishing up 4 bikes this month; 00R1, 02R6, RC51, and the 00 & 03 ZX12 (bodywork and gas tanks).  We also have some other large drag racing and land speed projects we need to finish as well.

The price ($300) sounds about right.  I’ll give you a rough estimate of 6 months but I have no idea what the year holds for us, could be sooner.  I’ll post them on our website and let people on the forums know about them when they are finished too.  I wish I could give you a more definitive date.

Sounds like they have something we all want in the works, we just have to be patient and wait for it.  Hopefully we can get a list of everyone that wants them by then and get a group rate or something.  Everyone keep an eye and ear out for it.
