Carbon fiber updated

Do you have pictures of any installed? So far what I see looks impressive. That is what I have come to expect from anything you have built anyhow. Does anyone build a CF underwing?

yea, thanks. I've got an alu sub that I lightened as much as possible already.

what about the front fairing brace?

what parts will you do that are covered by your current liability business insurance policy? (just curious)
current insurance will cover most things IF they are installed and build requirements (ie: prints and recorded spec info) are met in house. (that is how we interpet it anyway, our agent says slightly different opinion but he isn't the guy who gets sued if he's wrong) Product insurance is normally 5mil cap., it ain't cheap, and they try to make the description of the product covered VERY specific.

I mostly state "structural". Fairing stay? Ahhh maybe. I can't see one of those failing and killing someone. Not likely to anyway.

If I have time I will look into it. This is the third and hopefully final attempt at making an undertail that I personally would like to own. First attempt was a hard mold for ABS construction. Was "do-able" but the time and efforts spent on R&D made it impractical IMHO.

Are you curing these in an oven, or at room temp?  Just curious as I've always wanted to make my own CF parts.  Looks great!

I know someone builds a belly wing. Just don't know who off the top of my head. I think I have a picture of the finished style shown somewhere. they are obsolete already though. New version will look much better. Item in the above picture is also NOT clearcoated. Once clearcoated, they have extreme depth and the gloss is very nice.

Thanks, I appreciate that.

If you never worked with carbon fiber I recommend you don't.

The dust is very hazardous to your health, it is VERY labor intensive, material is super costly and you will scrap 3 pieces for every mint one you make.

Fiberglass is much easier venue.

Are u using Prepreg or using Resin with Cloth?? I have made alot of stuff with Vacuum Bagging technique and cloth with West Systems Epoxy. Prepreg looked interesting but I never used it.
