Carrera S smoked me in the twisties

You took the best route and that was to be safe! Given a little more time and some practice you will take him in that same corner! Ran a Z06 coming down from prescott last night and took him the whole way. There was a couple of times he was close to me, but that is because I didn't feel comfortable with the turn and slowed down a little and got on it hard on the straights.

ha ha ha ....i feel so much better now....the little cuttie in his car was worth all of that and more....

Power to weight, the bike will get off the line and hussling much faster than nearly any car. And bikes have a gyroscopic effect that limits how much acceleration they can attain in the turn - car's wheels are already upright. I too read a similar car vs. bike article a few years ago where they put GPS tracking units in each vehicle. The car can brake later and turn harder (g-force measurements) than the bike, but the bikes time-to-speed out of the turn was always higher than the Z06 it was riding against. And depending on the track (specifically the amount of straight before each turn) it's a tossup between a good sports car and a track-oriented bike. In short, the physics were working against you and for the Porsche.
