last time i checked in i was in Wisconsin. Well Brothers and Sisters, Friends and Family, we have hit 3 States sense my last post.
i totally fell asleep posting pics last post.
oh my goodness.
ok, i was in Mee-lee-walk-kay, with the Laverne and Shirley theme song going through my head.
After a slim nights sleep (in a motel that i could not smoke in! ) Jon finally coaxed me out of bed with a cup of coffie.
got around and called Fez/ Wilson/ Hayabusa4life. (Awesome Guy, by the way!) and we went down to the Mother Company Museum.
Now i don't know how many pics you wanna see of Harleys, but some of these were AWESOME!
i have studied harley history and it was really neat to see some of these bikes in person.
i could and just may later, do a report on just the harley Museum.
There were old early 1900's bikes. my favorite paint on a bike, the 1933! Military sidecar rigs. a display of every engine they have ever made.
more NOVA stuff than i ever thought existed. that thing is a V65! in 1976ish, a V65! they really messed up there not pursuing that! Jon giggled.
there was a wall full of tanks. and my tank was up there. groovy! the Sturgis was a special year. thats groovy. they even had a complete bike, my Buddy's brother sitting there. (i didn't see what # it was!)
the cooliest part was at the end where they had a bunch of bikes to sit on!
my favorite was the 1977 XLCR cafe racer. i wouldn't mind building one of those.
After the Musem, we went and grabbed a bite downtown at the best fish joint in town. the tacos were pretty darn good!
we met up with Lurch and went out to Bot's house where we spent a few hours in his driveway chatting it up. wth Bots, no beer fridge in the man cave? "i have water" ??? don't worry, after a few months as a new daddy, you will know why there is always beer in the shop.
we spent too long chatting it up and eating and drinking at Bots fav local bar, and it was a cold ride back to Lurch's. im glad i didn't loose Wilson or we woulda been bummed. i forgot to program Lurch's address into my GPS.
Wilson/Fez/Hayabusa4life, had to go home.
so we hung in Lurch's Garage smoking and planning mods on Bessie.
Lurch hooked me up with a product he has been working on. a usb power port strong enough to power an i-pad and Waterproof to boot!
when i asked what i owed him, we worked out a deal for Smoked Brisket and Ribs when he visits. what a guy! that was very cool of him!
What was even nicer was the bed, the booze and the morning Coffie we were treated to.
We got an early start about 11am. We zipped along and in no time we were in stop and go traffic in Chicago.
I tell you what, the traffic in Chicago sucks! Bad ! Very Bad! I will never go back if I can keep from it.
Jon and I began to overheat and Jon began to smoke his clutch.
We were very happy to get on the skyway and get back up to speed.
We rode late into the night. Stopping every 70-80mi for Jon to get gas and me to relax and rest my groin.
I got into Dayton around 3am.
My Brother Eddie was happy to see me and set me up with a comfortable couch for the night.
I slept, omg I slept. I slept til 1 in the afternoon.
When I awoke, Eddie and I went out to pick up kids from school. I got to meet my brother Kenny’s kids and got to see all of Eddies kidos too. Aiden had gotten way big. It’s amazing how quick they grow.
I didn’t get to see Chris’s kids. Maybe if I can get back over there before I leave I will get to see the boys and Peanut.
Jon has ridden on to his sisters 150mi east of Dayton. He will rejoin me tomorrow.
I rode back to Indy and made it just in time for my meeting.
That is where I sit now.
