Maryland concealed carry permit rules to relax next month - Baltimore Sun

i plan on being in that first wave for sure. My reason for carrying COULD have met their criteria of being a business owner but I was NOT moving the "large sums of cash" which has to be shown with bank deposit slips under the current requirements. I would carry because i transport multiple firearms frequently for work (but im not LE) and the public ranges attract criminals. theyve tried to rob a couple of shops after hours (drove a truck through the wall at one) so I get a little edgy carrying 7-8 unloaded firearms and limited ability to defend them. Id put up a more than a good fight but they could easily get 1 and run. other than that i dont see needing to cc much. I thought about the whole riding scenario and I have insurance for the bike ...not for shooting someone and all that follows. Id get another Busa but peace of mind is not as easy to replace.

It got pushed back to Oct 23. The 4th circuit court of appeals ruled on thursday that Maryland could enforce the law as it stands until the federal court date(being the 23). I've been keeping track of it because if passed, I'm hoping for Va. reciprocity soon after.

thanks for the info...I didnt think it would happen this week but i didnt know it was pushed back. i knew about the ruling in march and then it just disappeared. A may just do it and see what they say.

If they relax the laws, there will be blood in the streets! LOL, just kidding bro, glad to hear they are doing that. Now if we can just get Illinois on board with the whole idea.

LOL ...Im filling it out now we will see what they say. all my refs are LE im an NRA certified LE instructor and I move firearms all the time. If the half qualified (in some cases) armed officers on the armored truck can carry moving their cargo I should be able to as well. If I had to chose which one to add the better protection to it would be the firearms not the paper.

Did I hear somewhere that DC was the Murder capital of the country? Every fifteen year old gang member is cocked and loaded while the tax paying citizens can't defend themselves? Loco!

Vote the bastids out and vote the tea party in! You will have the right to defend yourself within 90 days!

yeah that was early 90's tho. funny that our crime was ok/average, they banned handguns (mid 70s), crime rate went up (including those murder cap years) and the right to own handguns was restored a couple of years ago. Ill have to check the current stats
