Why my busa didn't came with a center stand.I heard that you can put one on it. HOw does it work? any bad experience with them, or it looks bad on the bike.

i've had one on mine and really like it but like with any center stand make sure you get it on it before you walk away or bike go boom

I bought one... but I'm not sure if I should fit it or not! Would it change the handling of the bike

Thats one of the main reasons that I have still not got it installed

It should change the handling of the bike. The biggest detractor that I can htink of is that you have to remove the belly pan (wing) to install it. They can't both be there. I had a center stand on my old ZX-11 and I didn't like it, rarely used it. Just my .02

I have one and use it all the time. The bike is much more stable when on the center compared to the side stand - less chance of some idiot nudging it over. Makes rear wheel maintenance easier. Wheel stands are Ok but you can't take them with you. Once you get the hang of putting a bike up on a center it gets easy to do.

You have to take the belly wing off. It is possible to fit the center stand without taking the exhaust off, that's how I did it. Took me about 30 minutes by myself.

It does reduce ground clearance slightly, but unless you're a serious scratcher this shouldn't matter (I'd imagine lowering the bike an inch or so would have a similar affect.) The kit includes some longer footpeg feelers. Incidentally, if you've had your ride lowered you'd probably need to shorten the legs on the stock center stand to compensate.

The 'Busa was the first bike I owned that didn't have a center stand, just didn't feel right without one.

I understand why it's an option though - clearance, weight and aerodynamics were important on this bike when it first came out.

i didnt get it pre installed. i orderedit from suzuki, it was 99$ and installation was for another 75 dollars.
It is great and has been working fine much more stable than side stands, yes one sacrifice is that you would have to remove the belly pan, but thats ok. Help me clean and oil my chain. also helped me in the hibernation during winter with the wheels of ground and i also used the pro fork stands for the front and i could manoeuvre the stands without nobody's help.

Thank you guys for the info I am probably willing to sacrifie the wing, or sombody know how to do it with the wing on it.

I think i'll go with out it... not too comfortable with the idea of the stand scratching the road when leaning the bike!

for the money you gotta pay for the thing you can buy a set of handy stand and lift the front, and rear of the bike... makes working on it a helluva lot easier.

personally I see it as dead weight.. course i don't go out to eat with my bike or shop or any of that jazz.. just ride and stop for snacks and if I'm worried about it falling over I'll put it in a spot thats more suitable for parking a bike.

I had my dealer install one because I had been away from motorcyling for 20 years and couldn't imagine a bike without one. Then I learned about stands, so I removed and sold it that winter. I bought some Pit Bull stands to use at home and there is a tool you can buy that functions as sort of a second side stand for along-the-road repairs. I can't recall the name of it, but it comes in two or three pieces in a plastic pouch and fits easily into the rear storage compartment. I learned about it on one of these forums, so look around for something that fits the description.

I think the bike looks a lot better with the wing in place and I don't miss the center stand.

If my bike would have come with one, I would have removed it....dead weight and it hurts ground clearence.

I installed one on my '03 and wouldn't be without it. Nice to always have it with you.

In my NTBHO.

I've had centerstands on most of my bikes and loved them. But between the hassle of installation and the need for the longer footpeg feelers cause of the Busa's tendency to drag the centerstand when cornering I'm gonna pass this time.............I'm gonna miss it tho

As you can see, people are pretty evenly divided on this one. It's personal preference.
