Chain recommendations for a stock gen 1?

Giving the chain it's needed cleaning and noticed one of the o-rings squeezing out and it's got me paranoid it's going to explode Michael Bay style. I'm sure it's been a bit since the chain has been replaced, I've only had it for a few months, 21k miles on an 04 and not sure of the PO's maintenance aside from the normal oil changes. I haven't had to change a chain yet, just the normal adjustments/cleaning so I'm green at this aspect.

That being said, I looked at the stickied posts and saw the nice write up on the process, got the tools already needed but I'm torn on what chain to get. A riding buddy says he just has a bike master chain on his ZX14 and it's doing fine, I've looked at Motosport and Bike Bandit and they all look around the $150-200 range when searching for my specific bike.

I'm fine with the price but if I don't have to, I'd rather not get a diamond when I can get a rock. It's my daily ride but I have backups if worst comes to worst and I'm waiting on shipping or something.

So, what do y'all recommend for a stock 1st gen? I've looked at the sprockets and they both look good but I might swap them out just for giggles so a combo package isn't out of the question.

Thanks!

EK ZZZ 530, you'll have to get the 120 link unless the people you are dealing with will sell you the correct number of links. I believe 112 is stock.

I myself prefer D.I.D. X-ring chains. I have better luck with them than I do with the EK's. I seem to get a lot longer life with less stretching.
