If the bike is level, there should be some oil in the cover.
Which means there should be a little oil on the bottom of the plates.
Is the oil visible in the site glass?

It's visible when it's off the spool stand. That was the first thing I checked.

I really appreciate everyones help and feedback on this. I will update this weekend!

I’m going to measure them with a caliper.

at gen 1 AND gen2

each drive / driven plate may be in specs, but if all together are smaller than 50.5 mm, ...

so measure the entire pack in one hit as described here

I've been meaning to update this. Lady has been out of town so it's just been me and the nine month old.

I cleaned the metal discs, put the clutch back in and Loc-Tite the spring bolts. Used the Service manual, and a digital caliper.

It feels much much better and is not sticking anymore. I think they were gummed up pretty badly.

Now on to stainless clutch and brake lines while the fairings are off.

i hope for you that you followed my hint (and the manual´s instructions) only to put loctite
at the number 6 bolts BUT NOT at the lill screws (too).

Just an update. Been riding around the past two weeks, in the cold Indiana weather we've been having. No issues, or anything. Bike has been shifting perfectly again. Thanks again!

I know from experience it's always a great feeling when things go right....glad to hear you've had success and the beast is out prowling like it should be again.
