Clutch mod for boosted bikes???

OK...The ring has been installed and my man advised that the springs that come in the Carpenter kit are stronger than the heavy duty springs that were initially installed...I believe that this mod will accomplish what I want it to do...Haven't picked the bike up yet it's still at the shop...Really don't have a desire to get it right now got to put alot of hours in at work...Once I get it back I just need to adjust the fuel and put the fairings on...Oh I forgot I've got to clean her up...Nobody likes a nasty girl...

Keep us posted Stunnah. I'm curious how this mod will work. With the other stuff I am having done, I decided to go with the MTC 2 stage lockup, just to be sure.

No doubt...With the HP I suspect that you'll have on hand the 2 stage was a no brainer...

Pics say more than my stupid words -
Check the pics on the modded clutch of my Busa :

Now here you have a interesting mod.
This thing solves some stockers problem with
the clutchie clutch once and for all.

Ohh .. and here you have the heavier springs.
Take a look at that spring - double Hp requires double
thick springs.

ceicil.... I've heard if you run the solid hub your clutch will slip badly... just a friendly warning you might want to check into.
As long as the mod is done correctly it will not cause additional slippage.
The stock 2-peice set-up allows for the peice to slide into position and apply additional pressure as the RPMs increase... a poor man's lock-up.
The 1-peice mod fixes the peice into the position that it would eventually get to at higher RPMs.
This eleviates the chatter and provides for additional pressure to the plates to reduce slippage.

My clutch slipped directly after I did the mod.
However, I also went up significantly in HP at the same time.
Thus the slippage was NOT the result of the clutch mod... but due to the increased HP.
By increasing the stack hiegth by .030 it has held up great ever since.

I am going to go with a 2-Stage lock-up very soon... this is just a short term fix to a long term problem.

Hope this helps.

Still haven't picked my bike up but I'm pretty certain the ring is what I needed...
