CLUTCHLESS UPSHIFTS.....

+1 on clutch less up shifting. Basic trick is while you accelerating you back off the gas a tad and then make the shift, then give it gas again. Just in the timing. It's almost like you do all the actions at same time. Once I've gotten use to it I hardly ever use clutch. Much easier on a bike then car.

Can't say for sure it isn't hurting the tranny, but I figure I'm saving the clutch.

Once I get through 2nd gear, if I desire, I use this little red button (seen in the picture below), it kills the ignition for 60ms combined with a little tension on the shifter, the bike will shift gear seemlessly (up shifting only). It feels like an automatic with a stiff shift...

Upshifting yes. Downshifting no.

Abnormal wear, only if you are a mouth-breathing knuckle-dragger.

now that is funny! about 25 years ago I made a switch like that for my 900F Honda for shifting.. Now how yours does 60ms is way beyond my electronic ability, mine just grounded out the coils for as long as I held it. Made racing shifts a piece of cake...

Where did you get that?

Wait how many gears are there I always puch it down once and if need neutral up one... someone please clarify this for me... I always thaught that i had a problem when i hav a speedo of 180 and can only go about 80 on one gear....

clutch where is that lever... every time I pull the right lever it slows the bike down that is why a barely use the lever on the trottle side.....

Personally, I use the clutch. I have made smooth clutchless shifts, but I generally use the clutch. However, on the GSXR on the track I have routinely made clutchless shifts with the throttle pinned and never had any issues.

Been doing it for years on every bike I've ever owned and on every standard tranny car I've ever owned.  Never had a problem.  As Charles said, if you aren't shifting more smoothly without the clutch, you're just not doing it right.

I'm intermittent.  Sometimes I use the clutch, sometimes I don't.  More for downshifting than upshifting.

The clutch is there for starting out from a dead stop and keeping the bike from stalling when you stop.  Other than that, the clutch is for people who can not or will not shift properly.

I will say, however, sometimes, I do screw it up.  THAT is what will cause problems, eventually.  Not clutchless shifting itself.

Exactly, screwing up clutchless shifts is most likely the prob

I think for most folks, and for extra safety, its easier on the bike to use the clutch....its more forgiving. I've owned over 80 diff machines (dirt/street) in my time and have never lost a tranny/gear...but I also almost always use the clutch...even if its just a quick jab. I think it has a cushioning effect that helps reduce the shock on the gears/dogs. I've had a few friends that do alot of clutchless shifting, and they've had tranny probs on multiple bikes...and have owned wayyy less machines than me
