My dealer had swapped colors… the matte blue on the silver bike and the gloss red on the white bike…
I opted for the white/blue.
The matte silver is nice but keeping it clean and matte is more work than it’s worth to me.
To avoid this never touch a fine finish with anything but high quality 100% cotton. Consider towels like Zaino's where the edges are not stitched to entirely eliminate synthetic material that can do damage. The remaining problem is the dirt itself. Rinsing and softening dirt before even touching the surface will be the best that one can do to prevent the dirt from carrying in the towel and abrading the surface. Following good habits will not completely prevent damage but it mostly will. One can use a mild polish but since that removes material, use it on infrequent intervals like every five years to repair the inevitable scratches.
Now carry on with the shade of black of your choice!
