Compression Releases

I have noticed that the big inch, high compression V-twins use compression releases. Could this be done on large displacement Busa motors to help ease the strain on the starter and battery? I noticed some big inch Busa's have to carry two batterys, one to start the beasts and one for electronics. Any imput would help.

the 2 are used for 24 volt starting only.

No one really runs crazy compression to need releases. The prostock guys are hgih but then they use an external starter. Golden's got it right for the dual batts...

So why do you need 24 volts (and two batteries) to turn over a big inch engine if compression isn't an issuse ? When I used to drag race (cars) we used to wire the starter seperately from the ignition. We would hit the starter then light the motor.
