Same thing just happened to my daughter's Saturn yesterday and at WALMART! Burned up the alternator. Walmart located and made arrangements for another shop to fix the car and had her drive it there, as we followed. The shop called and indicated the damage was extensive, more wires and more electrical has to be changed out. Originally, Walmart had told us to just bring them the bill and they would reimburse from the "drawer", which we had the manager write on the ticket. The Walmart manager also explained the "deal" to the manager of mechanic shop. When the damage started mounting, Walmart retracted their promise, and said we would have to pay for bill upfront and then CMI would determine reimbursement. The car is not even close to being complete.

WAIT are you serious that they soldered the main fuse back together LMFAO that should give you enough of a inclination that they do not belong working on it. The main link is designed with a specific resistance and once its reached it pops... get those guys away from your vehicle and take it to the dealership. Years of working car audio for a living and working with some idiots has taught me the positive side of circuits are protected the most but in reverse you can do alot of damage!!!
