Just so you guys know, these instructions aren't for the busa.

In the directions below, is the service manual saying to start the engine with the radiator cap off??  Or do you put it back on, start the engine, shut down the engine, then take it off to see if its still full up to the inlet??

Thanks guys

I would put the cap back on after you add coolant so it doesn't slosh out when you try to bleed the system

When we used to do the little jap cars, you HAD to have the radiator cap on in order to burp the air from the system.

What bike is that for?

You can leave the cap off, it may spit a small amount out upon start-up, but then will suck it down immediately after. Keep topping it off, cap off still, until it settles and doesn't want anymore, do the bleeder screw etc.. Thats one technique thats worked for me. Speaking of coolant, I need to flush and fill mine, only using Water Wetter rather than ethylene glycol for track tech approval.

bleeder screw open cap off.. fire it up and add.. wait for air to exit keep adding till steady stream is what i was taught...

*edit* of course fill it up first

Thanks guys, it sounds like you can run it with the cap off. It just sounded really strange to me
