Cooling of the Seat?

I'm not familiar with bike shorts at all. What makes one better over another? Any recommendation for them? I would like to try the bike shorts for my next ride just don't know anything about them. :beerchug:

Check this website out: LDComfort - Getting to the Bottom of Rider Comfort - Motorcycle Underwear

I have a pair of shorts and long. They keep the moisture off of you which will prevent the issues your having. They work in the heat and the cold weather. If I do any long distance riding, I don't leave home without them. These undergarmets are used in the iron butt rallies and all of the BMW riders that do any kind of long distance riding swear by them. Just look at both videos so you understand the concept. These work 10 times better than bike shorts
Just another option

before you waste your money, order a Tobin. Don't buy a used one unless it was made for your height and weight. Tobin builds the seat to your height and weight. Foam density makes the difference and the wide part of the seat is designed based on your height.

I have used a jel seat, corbin, airhawk, and beaded seat cover. Tobin is where I landed up most satisfied. The beaded worked very well and airhawk, even better. When I got the Tobin, I did not need any of the rest. The beaded cover and the airhawk are great for cruisers. There are problems with the airhawk and beaded seat on a busa..... both change your seat height and you slide around. Not good in the twisties. They were mainly for the Road King, but I tried them on the busa.

yeah but the wheelchair is not as cool as a Busa

Its a legit concern.

I am still looking for the right seat.

So, since I can't afford a new seat at the moment, I spent about $21 bucks or so on this goofy contraption, which actually seemed to work, but needs refinement. Also it is ugly a sin on the bike. However I rode for 300 miles this past weekend in the Texas heat and my rear never got hot, except for once and that was because the pad had managed to come loose and was being held on by one small part of a cheek, lol. It is not for major twisties either, cause you do slide around a little, but for normal riding I think it did the job. On another note, it is not even for motorcycle use, it turns out to be some sort of canoe seat, but hey it fits on the seat. I will play around with it some more to see if I can get it to fit better. If not, back to the drawing board until I can afford a new seat.

Anyone have any suggestions other than getting a new seat as the funds are not available for that at the moment. I currently have the Suzuki Gel seat on my 08, and as most of you know it starts to get hot after a while of riding causing discomfort. Any short term or cheap remedies for the moment? Also, any one use bicycle riding shorts under their pants to help on long rides, does it do anything? Thanks for the input, I tried doing a search but could not really find anything on cooling down the seat.
See LDComfort - Getting to the Bottom of Rider Comfort - Motorcycle Underwear Best thing I did for long distance riding

Isn't the LDComfort basically the same as UnderArmor? All it really says is that it's "moisture wicking"
