I keep this kind of riding for wide enough country roads, where there is no traffic and do only short bursts.

You must find it real difficult to drive here in the USA. They have no idea mostly, about keeping the fast left lane open and using it only for overtaking. Very frustrating.

This was my first time in California , first time lane splitting and the first time on the 405! I was riding my friends 08 custom Hayabusa! I was nervous at first but by the time i left Cali i was golden LOL BTW for some stupid reason i decided to sight see during rush hour!

In some countries lane splitting actually works really well. It is done at almost walking speed once the traffick builds up, never as in this video.

I was going to say car's fault at first. I don't imagine it's illegal to pass on the right if the traffic in the left lane is going slower than the speed limit. Looks like the bike was closing at over 100 mph hour though. Don't expect the rules to work in your favor if you're already breaking the rules. That rider is damned lucky he didn't fly over that overpass wall. Instead he has a wrecked bike and minor injuries. I wouldn't be complaining about a thing if I were him. I'd be thanking my lucky stars. Maybe he is now that he's calmed down and had a chance to process the whole event.
