Crazy prices....

Was looking on Kijiji this morning for something to do and noticed some very crazy prices for used Hayabusas..

I saw a 2020 with a few aftermarket goodies on it and 1500kms where they wanted $19k for it....two ads down was a brand new 2022 for $23K...

Even a 2017 was in there for $17k....

There were quite a few Hayabusas in there all crazy priced.

I don't know if these are selling but I reckon they will be on there for a long, long time...

folk in UK are still trying to sell '99 Copper Gen1's with high mileage for

£6,500 or $10,290 Canadian or $8,060 US
I saw 2006 SE with 25,000kms on it and the guy wanted $12k Cdn for it...Blue book says $7k for a limited

I just looked up the Blue Book value for my 2009 and it says $9,669 Cdn...which I think is crazy priced.

Now is a good time to sell if you don't want or need a new one. There's just no damn way I'd pay $19k for a used busa though. I'd just buy a new one. I was thinking about replacing my wrecked 08 ZX-14 with a used one and NADA and Bluebook are about $6k for that. Not a terrible price for a used bike. I might pay that if I found one with about 25,000 miles on it. ...sure would feel good to have that bike back...:confused:
 
I got some dealers in my area wanting $16k for a used 2020. I just shake my head when I see those prices. Some 2016 concours14 like mine are listed at $13k, but that same dealer had a 2021 busa and when I inquired about trading in my concours, mine was only worth $8k to them. That’s not a bad trade in number, but why is theirs worth that much more than mine?

Used vehicle prices are at an all-time level of insanity today... seems most people have forgotten that a Hayabusa is a tough sell on a good day.
Very true, there were many 2020 Hayabusas sitting on showroom floors...dealerships only ordered a few Gen 3s as they are hard to sell.

It's one of the bikes where the young can't afford them (insurance wise) and the older riders (generally) are looking to slow down ...that's why cruisers and especially HD bikes are everywhere...HD bikes are a status symbol mostly.

Not many people sit at a coffee shop and brag about their Yamaha but they crow to the moon about their "HOG."
 
The Gen 2’s are priced pretty right over here whereas the Gen 3 can’t sell even in the used market, local Black one was $23k with 1000kms and now has been reduced to $21k and had no bites for the last 3 weeks or so.

Due to the “limited” supply, brand new has now had an additional $100 added to the price even though there is plenty sitting in dealers and the warehouse in Melbourne.

This kind of crap pisses off Suzuki Inc as well as potential customers because they want to move their product. Car dealers over here have received warnings from manufacturers not to price gouge for the same reason despite the alleged new car shortage. Took a 300 mile drive to SoCal today though and passed a lot of car dealers whose lots were jammed full of cars. Prices remain high. Imagine if (everybody) kept their current car for say, two-three years and didn’t buy another. What would the prices on new cars be then?

Unfortunately we can't bargain on the price of the Gen 3,it is purely fixed by Suzuki Australia. That was one of the main reasons that i jumped camps,i work closely within the industry and was told to either pay the price or buy something else.

Designed-in obsolescence. Have a car with a massive screen that controls everything in it? Your mechanically-sound car will be worthless and junkyard-bound when that screen is no longer being updated and/or supported. For an industry preaching sustainability with electric cars, they're certainly putting out a lot of potentially short-lived disposable products.

Real sustainability comes in the form of something that has already been built, and can function as-is with no future updates needed... just basic repairs to keep it going. Cockroaches and 60's Dodge Darts with points ignition systems... that's Earth's future. :D

Hayabusas though... the dealer here in town sold three Gen3s immediately after they were introduced, all ordered in by pre-paid (or pre-approved) buyers. They didn't want any for their stock. Another store about 120kms away in a nearby town brought in two for stock, they still have them both. Neither has been marked down 1¢ yet. I can wait. ;)

here is a question , not sure it is the same in North America??

riders of HOGS never acknowledge 'say hi ' to sports bikes, busas etc , in the same way as GS riders never acknowledge Sports bike. busas etc

some sort of snobbery over in UK :confused::confused:

When i was over in York Penns back in 2011, i had some time between work and did a Harley factory tour, the tour guide asked me what bike i rode , i said "Suzuki Hayabusa" and he said "what's that "!

i followed the guide cursing the lumps of old iron being built :moon:

I find for the most part every rider waves, there are exceptions of course..

When I rode my brother's RT, everyone waved.

People around my area are more into 4 wheelers, boats and snowmobiles and if they are into bikes, it is generally an HD, people around here could care less about what a Hayabusa is.

I visited that factory in York and it was pretty cool....what I found to be really interesting is the rolling museum...HD had the foresight to take one bike out of a production run and stow it away for the museum...the guide said they started this in 1912...and there was a 1912 bike in this museum.

He also said the museum only stayed at one factory for 3 months then moved to another one...in essence you could go back to the York plant in 3 months and see totally different museum bikes....

One thing about HD, they know how to market themselves better than any other manufacturer.
