I would stick the lube right in the split of the cushions. Then when you slam it together, it'll slide in properly.  Boy that really sounded gay.

Heavy has corrupted my innocent fragile mind. Where's that angel smiley?

im just gonna say that im feeling a little uncomfortable in here with a bunch of dudes talking anout lube

I replaced mine after noticing there was a lot of play in there too.

Did that along with a new chain & sprockets and tightened everything up.

I remember swapping bikes with a buddy and having to explain before he started off just how much play was in the rear wheel and just to get used to it.

well, guys guys...ok ok stop lubing and listen to this...bike mechenic told my buddy last week(just found out today...) that cush drive does not go bad unless you do alot of wheelies etc. but with 15000 mi? someone didn't tight the lug nut enough...(guess it supposed to be tighten to close the rear fork I guess...although, my buddy had a same problem, and he fixed it, he has 06...) thanks for the input...pretty slick input tho...Jesus!!!

I replace mine every other rear tire, takes the lash out of the driveline. Cheap parts....when you order, order 2 sets. At the moon garage I always stock a set. KY jelly is the lube ya want, slick as snot and doesn't hurt the rubber. I sneek some of the wife's....

The "rubbers" do wear out from even normal use. They're a wearable item, meaning they wear out after time. I changed mine after 10K miles and what a difference it made. The cush fit is ALOT tighter now, and yes, i had to lube it to drive that puppy home.
