...how prevelent is the cut out syndrome described in the problem section...is that somthing to worry about on the east coast? Seems pretty commen over all...my unit shifts ok and hasn't cut out yet at 1100 miles, but hey, why not worry? These ain't mopeds!

Mine doesnt cut out, but Bob is taking his fuel pump apart and replacing some parts. He will be able to answer your question. It might be the gasoline your using and depending on what part of the country you live in determines what gas additives there are and this could pose a problem with the busa's fuel system...........I'm sure Bob will post his findings......

it's the little mesh screen before fuel enters the pump.it really is apoor design.it's just to small so once trash starts to collect,it can't recieve proper amounts of fuel

Busa, take another look at the service bulletin.

Regional problem, probably not but Suzuki is laying blame on fuel additives. No mention about a tank coating gone screwy as heard from busa owners in other countries.

Blame is placed on the tightness of the screen material in the petcock and an insulator around the fuel pump motor.

Differant states have differant gasoline additives(regional), seems that Busa's from all differant states are afflicted and differant countries as well.

Suzuki is fixing the bikes that surface with this problem as a service bulletin and not as a recall(a recall would be for a larger group of bikes defined by a serial nmber range).

Kawabuser - wonder if there is any truth to the type of fuel used being a factor? I've wondered about that but have nothing to indicate one way or the other. I can say this - I have always used Super-unleaded (highest grade available) and it is said to contain more detergents than regular unleaded. Also - where I live there are NO MTB additives (supposed pollution fighter fuel sold in large cities now ending up in water supplies as toxic cancer agent) I'm not sure if my fuel selection has had anything to do with my lack of any cutout problem (or any other problems for that matter) or not but I'm a little over 5000 miles now - no cutout.
