I would never buy a battery which goes bad if fully discharged. Imagine you are on a trip, and accidentally discharged the battery. Or, plan riding in the morning, but discovered the night prior that the battery is drained.
The Li batteries can't be taken below 8 volts DC. Even an SLA may not recover from a complete discharge. The Li can also sit on a shelf for two years. Everyone should do complete research and make a personal decision. I ride daily, so I went Li. Hopefully I'll never make a mistake.
