not really much to talk about.. no close calls, no major crashes that I know of, nothin really exciting at all..

well other than just the road anyways..

made about 6 trips thru.. normally I won't drag knees on the road.. but it's the freekin' gap.. no matter how hard you say your not gonna be goofin' off you end up doin it.. lol

we've been down enough that we didn't even bother to take any more pics.. I know killboys cronies caught us coming thru a time or two.. they had the oppurtunity to take some nice shots .. but we will see what they come up with I guess.

Oh.. one small pucker factor... normally we don't do much thru the straight patches.. just kinda cruise thru.. for whatever reason we hit one, and I nailed the throttle in second and held it open for a second or two.. probably 80-90mph anyways... and then the co. cop popped around the corner (OH SHIIIIT!) haha I nailed the brakes so hard I felt the rear tire get light and then let off and drifted by him... he must have not been in a writing mood cuz he never even touched the brakes.. either that or he forgot to turn the radar on. .. Either way..

THANK YOU Mr. Officer.

FWIW.. I've just about had it with the rear sets on the 'busa.. I've got to figure something out... I keep scraping the rear brake lever... I can't seem to get it high enough.. I had the buell peg mod.. thought that was the problem.. so I removed em'. removed the rubber thing from the stockers, and put those on... put the brake lever higher than it really should be... and same problem..

get into a right hander pretty good,, and SCREEEEEKKKKKK

now if it was the peg it wouldn't bother me so much.. but when the lever starts touching.. it doesn't give like the peg would .. it starts pushing up on the bike, upsetting the whole thing.. When it hits hard enough to cause problems it normally causes the front tire to start pushing... or try to wash.. I caught it once today... and I've done it a few other times... and quite frankly... my luck is only gonna last so long.. it's time for a FIX to the problem..

got any ideas?

I'm putting the last paragraph as a new topic about pegs to see if anybody else is having this problem.. and if anything other than replacing the rear sets is going to solve it.

Good report! Glad you had a good time. If you can make another day trip, I will be down there the 29th.

After all the hype that I have heard...I was amazingly dissappointed at the Dragon.
The road is too tight and there's no time to enjoy any of the view...hardly.
Hell...I never left second gear, that I can recall

A MUCH better time was had on the Cherohala Skyway route.
132+ miles with nice long sweepers at 80+MPH....lakes...and some small places to take pics...eat lunch...and enjoy.
Follow the RED route out of Robinsville up to 360 then over to 411 and finally down 129 back into the Dragon area.
The sites, attainable speeds and areas to enjoy are what kept my trip from becoming a bust...besides the fact that it rained for more than 4 days of the 6, I was gone.

haha, I'm just the opposite of you.. I can't stand the cherahola.. the only way to enjoy it is by destroying the speed limit and the chances of major injury are much higher at those speeds..

course I like tight twisties... sweepers are fun on a track,, but I got no desire to find a gaurdrail while I'm sliding along the pavement at 70mph... NO THANKS!

Everytime I ride the cherahola I just look at those rusty ass guard rails and imagine what they would do to my frail little squishy body.. scares the hell out of me.

not to mention the amount of money you'd spend if you get caught at 80+ on cherahola.

That's my feeling exactly. Cherohala is a far more enjoyable ride than the dragon.
