Exactly what happens in life when your sense of humor changes and is that right or wrong? For example, let's say in your teens you thought something was really funny, yet later in life you no longer find it funny any more or maybe not as funny. Should you really allow yourself to OUTGROW things that brought you so much pleasure of entertainment simply because you are an adult now? Is that healthy? Some examples might be: fart jokes. as a youngster, there is not much funnier than the look on their faces, and blabbering noise coming from their backside and the offense it bestows on those around you. but now, it's not funny? or it IS funny and you have to "Act Mature" around it? Why? when did we LOOSE the perspective of that being funny - provided it was funny too you earlier in life?

another example might be seeing someone kicked in the nads. again funny face and scream sounds followed by going fetal on the ground is pretty funny. BUT, maybe it happens to you a couple times and you remember the pain and it is no longer funny because of painful memories?

in more dangerous examples, maybe certain handicaps were kinda funny looking until we have a child of our own with similar handicap, and then it's offensive when people poke fun at that. Yet we USED to laugh at that ourselves. Maturity? Maybe some things SHOULD be grown out of, but I think there is a bunch that is not.

I'll NEVER loose my sense of humor, i hold on to it soooo strongly. Without humor and good things in life, life is WAAAYYY too negative.

I prefer to seek out things that are funny and bring me joy. Without those, (especially in the last few years), life would be MUCH more difficult.

OT:  I dont think I've been kicked in the nads enough lately, to remember what it is like.  I used to double over just WATCHING it happen [still while laughing] but now it doesn't even phase me.   maybe I'm protecting the jewels a little too much

The thing I struggle with the most probably is certain handicapped people.  And it might be because I am able to act like a dork and make people laugh, but certain handicapped people.... lets say.... and PLEASE DON'T TAKE THIS LIKE I'm a heartless D**K, but lets say they walk "funny"... something inside makes me laugh a little, but DEEP in my heart, my heart goes out to them and I almost tear up thinking about the progress they made getting this far in life... you know?   It's an inbred hypocriticality that I hate, but something I grew up laughing at.  Yet, I feel their plight too.  I know that probably sounds WAY WRONG, but I am a human bean too and full of imperfection.  I'm admitting a huge internal fault here so please don't pick at my confession.

and a Couple months ago, I saw two small children run full speed into each other at a sporting event.  they actually bounced!  It was as funny looking as any youtube video of stupid people.  Then the poor kids got up, and one had lost a tooth and was dumping blood down his shirt and the other kid was holding his head and scream/crying.  I felt bad for them but laughed out loud a little too.   None of the parents that were there were laughing at all.  I thought at least SOME would find it funny.

I suppose there are varieties of things we need to grow out of, and tons of things we don't but just don't have time for.
