Yeah, a Big book just written by Some Men... A Novel, Long Fictitious book, Some accurate dates, some Geographic and historical accuracy but otherwise just a big book? Sounds a lot like the Bible. (Sorry Sorry, I couldn't resist... Especially with the "Fact and Footnotes" thing...)Yah, my wife had me search for those lego sets a few months back...............unfortunately the "reverend" who markets this stuff is only interested in making fun of the Christians. I'm with WWJD on the "DaVinci Code" junk............people don't understand what the word "novel" means anymore.....they think it means "big book" when it really means "long fictitious book". Anytime someone starts a book with "Fact:blah, blah, blah....." but then fails to include any kind of footnotes or references, ..........you better question it!!!!
Rev....................thanks for bringing this lego mania up again!!! Some of the scenes are pretty funny!!! Kids would love them!!!!!
The Lego Thing was pretty funny. Yeah WWJD the parts I thought might be offensive were some of the tongue in cheek lego guys and most of the selected bits from the Old Testament... While they may be accurate, when read outta context they do start to sound pretty damned funny...
I was initially thinking that the Brick Testament was mostly there to poke fun. But after checking on a couple of the passages depicted, they are accurate, just funny. However, I found myself reading and studying more bible verse the other night with my wife than I have in years. So the Lego's while they may be intended to poke fun, will prolly actually get a lot more people thinking about and reading the Bible...than would have otherwise. Not a bad thing then probably...
