Discuss Avatar here! *possible spoilers as of 12/18*

I need more than computer graphics, special effects, and explosions to keep me from feeling cheated out of the $8 admission fee.

From the heavily promoted previews I was left with the impression that the point of the movie was to showcase the technology used to produce it...not tell a story that would stimulate what little intellect I still have after sitting through "Speed" fifteen years ago.

Glad you guys enjoyed it. Wish I could watch a movie and not feel insulted while thinking about how dumb these producers in Hollywood think I am that I won't notice how bad the basic plot is. This is my issue alone...not criticizing anyone for what they enjoy watching.

"Speed" pretty much cut the time I allotted to watching movies to about 5% of what it was before that experience...from which I am certain I lost 30% of my former intelligence.

Lol.
I kinda feel the same it was just a showcase vs an artistic achievement. Nonetheless ill watch it in theater or at home. I like all movies just about so it doesn't really matter what it cost or was invented in the making. Plot from what I've heard seems to be written by al gore.

I'm probably the only person in the developed world who hasn't seen Titanic, but I just can't bring myself to watch a movie when I know what the ending is.

I give Avatar a shot my friend. Relax and let your mind get immersed in the world of Pandora. It's really very cool!

If you want a sure fire way to enjoy it....go see it in Imax. It's really hard not to like any movie you see on an Imax screen

FYI, just got in from seeing this movie. Plot is weak, yes. Most movies are weak in that area. Visual graphics were amazing. Im going to see it again. In 3D this time as it was sold out for today...

AVATAR the movie

I just got out and it was one of the best movies I've ever seen. Good tried and true story..evil villains and the champion; plus it's a love story girl meets boy and fall in love , boy saves world etc.

I grabbed the 3 D show and got cool glasses to wear. The 3 D is awesome...things jump off the screen at you. Na Vi' 10 feet tall..

2 1/2 hours went by so fast. Trust men I think you'll dig the movie.

How's thast for a movie report? LOL Wardie

Re: AVATAR the movie

Movies will never go back. Incredible movie the 3D was fantastic. Mark this down as the day movies changed the media they present. 12 star out of 10

Re: AVATAR the movie

My wife & kids just got back from the movie ( I'm stuck at work ) and she really enjoyed it. And this comes from a woman that normally can't stand a sci-fi movie.

Heck, might even have to see this one again.

[Actually you have a good point, however they did a much better story then it appears from the trailers.
