DIY - Fender Eliminator K8+

Neat idea.

I wanted to keep my stock parts unmolested in case I wanted to return the bike to stock (it's just the way I am). I found a piece of aluminum sheet I had laying around, traced a rough pattern, cut it out with my jig saw, bent it slightly, then mounted the license plate bracket upside down to make the plate follow the removed fenders path. The tail light illuminates the plate and the light is protected from rocks kicked up from the tire.

Ur writeup is a little vague - could you please be a little more specific??? JK man! Excellent post dude! and nice pics to all:bowdown:

Thx for the writeup. I went out to do it without reading it all the way, was gonna try and use what you had and then add to it to make it my style...and it worked! Looks super dope. I'll try and post pix soon. The way I did it isn't super legal but I always push the boundaries. I also own a chopper with no low beam, just spotlight, no blinkers, no mirrors, straight pipe...so as you can see...thats how i roll. Plus i never really use a tag light. I may to keep them off me a little now tho. Thanks again!

No sweat! I am confident they will break loose when you need to.

Thanks for the walkthrough!

How did you guys cut that cable tie? What did you use? Scissors are too short wire cutters are too wide. All I can think of is using a hot needle and burning it off, or a laser - but that takes ages...

Never mind, cut it with a laser.

No metal bracket though, have to make my own. Maybe an American thing? UK bike don't come with front reflector I'm told. Maybe Oz bikes don't come with metal brackets.

Done! Simple, and it doesn't move a micrometer :)
Thanks OP.
