Do the throttle bodies start closing off in 6th gear, or near 186 mph?

It occurs to me that if I gear down the sprockets any, I may not need your mod at all. Has anyone calculated what top speed a stock bike is geared for at Redline? Many thanks.

Many factors but I’ll have exact info next weekend if weather cooperates when I’m testing. If it’ll pull it like the Gen-2, 192-194 before computer shuts it down.

Changing 190/50-17 to 190/55-17 and keeping same sprockets:
the limiter is set at 11202 rpm from 1-5th gears and at 10554 rpm for 6th gear:
1st gear 135.7 kph or 84.34 mph
2nd gear 183.2 kph or 113.86 mph
3rd gear 232.5 kph or 144.5 mph
4th gear 276 kph or 171.54 mph
5th gear 312.3 kph or 194.1 mph
6th gear 320.4 or 199.13 mph (10,554 rpm)

Remember you’ve got to subtract 4-6%+ for tire slip, wind, aero, etc to get actual.

Who wrote that? Pretty dumb post. Not sure what I was thinking.

Only problem is you can't get to 11,202 r.p.m. in sixth gear.

Although you can in fifth gear.

Yes indeed. Factory tune reduces rpm for 6th when selected. With Greg's gps fix your 6th will read 5th twice. Once in fifth, and then when you select 6th gear. You'll be able to use the extra rpm.

Although your gear position will read 5th on the display.

To get max target speed you need to match it to max power which comes around 10000rpm. Therefore a longer gearing is needed. Rev limiter is a safeguard not a top speed limiter, although Suzuki is using it in sixth gear to honor the manufacturers agreement of 300kph top speed.

Stock bike doesn’t have the power the pull it with a gear change unfortunately.
