do you dangle your legs

I love seeing how far slow I can get, even stopping sometimes, before I have to put my feet down, I never dangle, unless I am going 20 or 30, then I just let my feet drop down and slide them along the pavement. It feels like I am running at incredible speeds!!!!

It depends. Normally no because I don't have to deal with a lot of traffic. Even coming up on a stop sign I can come almost completely to a stop before I take off again and the feet stay on the pegs.
I have however hit rush hour traffic where some how the average speed is 2-4mph... in which case I'll just barely hold my feet off the ground whie inching forward every other minute. Why bother till I can actually begin acceleration right?
Pulling out of parking lots... nope. I've had a few close calls with people in large SUV's who're oblivious to the world on their cell phones and it's much easier to meanuever (sp?) w/ a quickness with legs up as opposed to legs down.

I think the problem is that the cruisers are not as well balanced as the sport bikes. I see alot of cruiser dudes doing this but not very many sport riders. I mean on a cruiser your arse is almost draggin' on the pavement and your feet are sticking straight out in front. I think it makes for an unstable situation. JMHO though.
There's also the issue of weight transfer. Feet on pegs means you can apply weight where you need it in slow turns etc. Dangling feet means your weight's up high and your "balancing" on the seat.

Leaning the bike and keeping yourself upright applies weight to the "outside" footpeg to counterbalance the bike.
There's also some worthy points in there about catching your feet on obstacles etc.
Generally I try to get my feet up as quickly as possible, especially on loose surfaces, so I can apply rear brake if needed rather than risk a front wheel washout.
