Previously owned a ZX-11...now I own a 2007 Black Hayabusa. Just knowing I am riding the fastest and the badest bike on the planet is my high. Hitting those limits does not excite me. Knowing I can is my thrill. I am 57 years old.

I totally respect your restraint, but there is a new level of life achieved when you look down and see the speedo rapidly approaching 170 on some out of the way, flat, empty strait...

I am on the fence on this one. Did not buy my 05LE to go fast but it has happened on occasion. Bought the 05LE just for the simple fact that I really love the lines that the Busa has and the fact that she is really comfortable when riding. Prior to owning my 05LE I owned a 2002 Busa and yes when I bought that bike it was so that I could go fast she had seen the other side of the speedo many times.

My first bike was a 2001 CBR600F4i. I topped her out at 161. That just wasn't enough. However, I fell in love with the Hayabusa the first time I saw her back in `99 and have been wanting one ever since. I just haven't been financially able to afford the busa till this year, and got a 07 blue. It is WAY more comfortable that the CBR, better looking, and faster. I got the CBR because I didn't want the busa to be my first bike, I was afraid it'd scare the hell outta me. The Hayabusa is awesome to go fast on, or just put around town!

YES!
When I first started riding my first set of wheels were,

Now don't laugh!

A 1982 Yamaha Seca Turbo, yes I know it was big, heavy and ugly! However it was a 650 with a turbo that would pick the front wheel up in every gear. I had lots of fun pimping that bike! I could ride it all day and night which I did alot. So in 1999 I went to a local Yami/Suzzi dealer to get some parts for my Seca and saw the then all new Hayabusa. I just sat on it for a min and knew I wanted one! But not having alot of $$$ I just picked up my part and forgot about it. Now fast forward 6 years to 2005 when I just happen to go online to Suzuki's website and saw the 05 Limited!!!!!!! I fell in love with the color and remembered sitting on one in 99, My next move was to call this dealer I have delt with for the last few years and told him I wanted it. The dealer told me Good luck the 06 models were out and the 05's were all gone (not the answer I wanted to hear) so I reminded him of all the business I both gave and sent him, He then tells me he will call me back later in the week! Well the next day I am at the dealer watching them uncrate my new 05 Limited Gun metal grey Busa with Zero miles (dealer had it shipped overnite from NJ)

So I first got the Busa because of the comfort and looks, But now the SPEED is what gets me going!

Yes

Got hooked on acceleration back in 1977 on an RD350. Then a H2 750 3 cylinder 2 stroke. Many Motorcycles later the Busa. Don't ride nuts anymore but sometimes I open her up.
Acceleration is a drug......And I'm Hooked.

I simply love the feeling when at 11000 in 5th with the needle against the pin you shift into 6th and she keeps pulling...fantastic. Mine is an 03 with 43000 km and 167hp. Need the 180 of the 08. It's a bike that one simply loves, it would be difficult to sell and as you say, the feeling that grabs you when you open the garage door...

I bought mine because i had riden a friends. After i had tasted a piece of the legend... i wanted to own one for myself. I loved how it rode nice and easy yet with a simple and slight twist of the wrist it was a rocket. So i bought it to just ride but now, knowing what its potential is... i am wanting someday to be a part of the 200mph club. In some controlled environment that is...

After over 1000 miles on my 08 I have topped out at about 110mph so top speed is not a big draw for me. Big torque with massive acceleration at any time was what I wanted and got

First gear power wheelies have been plenty fun too...Busa is working for me for sure

I first fell in love with the busa based on looks alone. At the time, I had a Honda CBR600 (this was in 1999) and was coming home to my apartment when i saw this "THING" sitting in front of the building next to mine. I had no clue what it was - it was silver and copper and looked like it came from the future, or off the set of a star wars movie. The guy who owned it was coming out at the time, and i stopped and talked to him a little bit. he introduced me to the hayabusa. I've been in love with this bike since then. I finally talked the wife into letting me have it last january, and I've loved every minute of it.

Most of the time, I'm not riding excessively fast. I'd say ive only had it over 130 10 times or so. I didn't get it to go fast, i got it because I love the look of the bike. that being said, the ability do attain ludicrous speed doesn't hurt its appeal any.

got one because you can never have enough...will peg the speedo on the new 08 soon im sure..i just really like the busa's...wish i could own more then just one...

so yes and no to your question

The only reason I want to own one is because of this video, plus I'm a bit nuts

Why would anyone own a Busa if they didn't want to ride fast?

hehehehe good question. But I think, the answer shows itself here. Some people are simple more... um..... SANE than others. Many just might enjoy the POTENTIAL, or like the history of this unique vehicle. Maybe they just thought it looked neat. Some people buy guns they'll never fire. It's your money, time and life, do whatever ya like with it.

looking like 3 out of 4 got it to ride very fast at this point in the POLL
