Do you want us to start smoking?okay,
I started this thread yesterday... It was after my first ride over 10 miles on the almighty busa, third ride altogether. Yesterday after work I rode the bike around some more and then again last night I rode the bike to our local bike night (only about a 7 mile ride each way).
I came up with this analogy... The hayabusa is like smoking (cigarettes and this only applies to smokers) at first you don't really like it, you cough, you gag, you feel like you are going to burn your tongue. On top of all that it tastes like ass. It's not a pleasent experience. However, for SOME unknown reason you try it again (peer pressure, morbid curiosity, whatever) and this time you catch a buzz, and while it only lasts a few minutes, you like it. Then the next day you light up again, this time you smoke the ENTIRE cigarette and you catch a nice strong buzz, you really like this... Before you know it, the acceleration of the motorcycle isn't scaring you anymore, it's tempting you, you try to hop back on your current motorcycle (because in this example, you haven't BOUGHT a busa yet) and it's just not the same, sure your (enter bike name here) is better then the busa in (enter BS reason here) but it's just not the same, you crave for that instant power available anywhere north of 4K. You just simply have to have it... Before you know it your buying a pack every day, the coughing is gone, the smell is something you don't notice anymore, and your hooked....
The busa is an impressive machine, having never ridden anything with more horsepower then my SV. (nighthawk, harleys, SV) the busa is by far the motorcycle that demands the most respect... But with respect comes great rewards (okay that sounded really cheesy)

i used to smoke... i quit last year...
I kind of equated the 'busa and riding it to smoking, or any other addiction for that matter. its something that at first you don't like it but with time, you can't see yourself away from it...
every time I see a friend light a cigarette in front of me, there is a brief moment when I say to myself, damn a cigarette sounds good, I never give into the urge, and I have a feeling for those that have given up the busa in search of some other type of bike, every time they give that throttle a healthy twist they don't say, damn i wish I still had my busa
i'd much rather ride a busa..I'll smoke a couple for yano,Do you want us to start smoking?okay,

Moondog,As a matter of fact, I'm currently in search of a little more power.....that carpenter "turn key 200 hp/ $2700" deal is haunting me...![]()
Are you actually blaming the Busa for your wipe-out? The story is you were chasing a buddy on his 600 gixxer and you wiped out through the turns even though you were in "COMPLETE" control as you put it. Doesn't sound like you were sure when you were or were not in control.those are FAMOUS last words dude-take from sum1 who's been there, done that...playd around all day with my boy on his ZX-12R n even did a top speed run on a 2mile bridge; I walked away from him doin 185 on his speedo, he couldn't believe it. Then met up with a buddy on his 600Gixxr-long story short, while chasing the 600 sum 20 mins. after flyn down the freeway in COMPLETE control of bike i'd ridden some 3000mi already, i lost it in sum corners goin like 40-50mph, less than a 1/3 of the speed i'd been doing. flew off bike, barrel-rolled like 15 yards in a TEE SHIRT, n f&#kd up my brand-new bike that I THOUGHT i had under control. U have no real idea of what that bike is capable of, and how fast things can go wrong on it...my dealer nicknamed these things Sucide Kings for a reason.Never once did I feel anything but confidence aboard the motorcycle.
And never before did I realize what it was I was riding until just now...

I think this is where the responsibility factor comes into play: knowing when you are or are not doing something out of your control. Wearing a freaking T-SHIRT was the automatic give away in this case.
Don't get cross, it just looks as if you are blaming the bike for rider error.
oh yeah i wish it had more cant wait till the 6 cylinder 07 comes out
