I also had to get a 36mm socket, hex sockets, and I still need to get a socket for the funky bolt on top of the triple tree.

I don't find it necessary to remove the fairing...I just remove the lowest 4 hex heads, pull the loosened fairing back, and that allows me adequate room to do the 10-minute oil/filter change very easily. Waaay easier than any of my automobiles, that's for sure.
Ditto the comments about tin foil on the pipes to keep old oil off of them; otherwise it will smoke on start up as the old oil burns off the pipes. Stinks, too. I can't fathom what the dealer would do that would justify a $230 price.???

If you follow the directions for the 600 mile service you need to check the torque on basically every bolt the bike has. You will need those tools if you don't have them all ready. He mentioned he was going to get a torque wrench all ready so that's why I didn't include that.
The 36mm socket is for the rear axle nut and the hex sockets are for a lot of miscellaneous items. I think my hex socket set are in sizes from 2 to 10 and I used almost all of them.
