Oh please...change the filter...drain the oil. Reinstall the drain plug torque to 16.5 ft lbs.
Pour in 4.0 qts of fresh oil...your good to go![]()
Well that about covers it. Perry, call me and I'll walk you through the first oil change with all the do's and do not's.....from pulling the fairing to using a little tin foil, to torquing the drain plug.
Hit Walmart or somewhere and buy, at the very least, a 3/8" drive ratchet, extension, and metric socket set from 10mm to 19mm. Get a set of 3/8" drive metric allen head drivers also (six drivers), they come in a set. They sell the filter tool at Autozone for about $3.00. From there all you have to do is say "Spud I need some oil", and I'll get you Amsoil 10w40 for $31 a gallon (4 quarts) and an EaOM 109 Amsoil Filter (The BEST on the market hands down) for $12.75. These prices are before tax, but you'll never ever regret running Amsoil Brother !.
