Down and out

Well, I haven't dropped a bike in a long, long time.

Today I made the decision to stop driving the 12MPG gas guzzling truck and ride the Busa as my main vehicle.

I stopped to get the mail and the bike fell off the kickstand.

I walked across the street and I heard the crash.

Now I need a clutch lever and a mirror if anyone knows where I can immediately get one.

Are you goin to the bash? If so, I was planning on taking a set of stock levers and a pair of carbon look mirrors just in case anyone needed them...

I wish I could make it.

There is a small chance that I may make it up on a Thursday, and maybe play around a little on Friday.


I just gave my stealership a call. They have a lever in stock for $33 so I'll pop that on so I can keep riding. If I'm lucky they will have a mirror too.

Right now the scratches in the paint are what is driving me insane the most. I guess this gives me a reason to go with custom paint at some point.

Every time I have walked to the garage in the past 15 minutel I get more and more angry.

I had an extra frame slider to replace the carbon one with. That thing exploded on impact.

While looking the bike over again I find not only the busted mirror and lever, but a damaged stator cover, multiple fairing scratches, and a bent can.

Did you leave the bike running when you got off of it, and did you do the sidestand mod?

Yes, it's a stock can.

No, I didn't modify the kickstand. This particular bike leans farther than I really like. I have no idea why the bike moved and tipped. Things just happen at times I guess.

Oh, and yes, the bike was running. I have parked at the top of my drive many times to check the mail. It just took one small goof up.

My dealership had a lever in stock.

Now I need to find a left side (clutch lever side) mirror and exhaust can.

I had that happen to me once as I was getting off my 03 pumpkin. I partially caught it, but still managed to scrape my mirror and stator. I did the kickstand mod the next day. --Which reminds me, I still need to do the mod on my current bike. Thanks for the reminder.

revvv where in ga are you ? im 30 miles west of chattanooga if you live close enough to drive here, but with the truck getting only 12 miles a gallon i dont know if it would cost you more in petro than the 33 for a new one.

Invest in the kickstand mod; its cheap and you never have to worry about that again...
