nah. its just easier for the launch and on the clutch. it wont hurt anything. the first several days i went i didnt have the mod. got it later on though.
That's to low on a Gen-II. Try shifting around 11,400 indicated on the tach. That should bring your MPH up and drop your ET a bit. Also try leaving with lower RPM but getting wide open throttle sooner. Even if you bog a hair around 3K you can have a better drive down track rather than slipping the clutch and getting the plates HOT...
I can vouch for these clutches. They worked well for me at 272hp on a short bike. We drug the heck out of the clutches trying to leave and ran top end in Goliad too.
