Dyno on stock 14

It is interesting how the torque drops after 6,000 rpms dramatically, also check out the low hp at lower rpms.... I do not think it is that impressive. Just thought it would be an interesting post.
You really need to learn about motors. Your comment indicates a complete lack of understanding about power curves and engines. By the way, the "numbers" you are all looking at are with the secondary butterflies in and are SAE. The 14 has higher HP and TQ than the Busa all the way up and down the band. I sold my Busa and bought the 14...still have my R1 and my 10R. The 14 does everything better than the Busa did...it's commonly known and has been proven to be faster on the strip than the Busa and has way way better brakes..go to dragbike.com and read Brock's diary...I'm sure most of you who know anything about Busa's know who Brock Davidson is...read what he says. Also, if you're lucky, you might see a new Busa in 2009...

Glad you like your 14 and found a bike that suits you and your personality.

Fug you and the Kaw you rode in on.

Yes it has more peak HP and TQ but it doesn'r do everything better. Doesn't handle as well in twisties, doesn't have better low-end TQ, not as comfortable and it looks like Kaw had each of the design members sitting in a different room when deciding on styling.

If anyone here was to race a 14 it would all be about who is a better rider... and vice versa. Both machines can hang with each other. Neither one can blow away the other.

What truly matters is this... put the busa side by side with a 14 and ask 100 hot chicks which bike looks better. Busa would win... and the guy who's sitting on it at the time!

My DYNO #'s from one of my earlier posts... Nobody ever stole my Lobster claw avatar, That fugger weighed 11.5 lbs. I won him on a $3 ticket from the roach coach at work.

I brought the bike down to the New England Summer Nationals to see what she'd do and to watch the Burnouts etc... My tuner guy is Rob's Dyno Service he is on the certified DYNOJET site. $60 for just the standard runs(no mapping, just numbers) and that gets credited towards mapping when it gets done.

The guy I use has done my last three bikes and I trust his numbers. He is DYNOJET certified, works all over NE, does Superbike tuning at Louden etc... I know some DYNO's read high and some low but I was still very happy with these numbers. It was about 85 degrees out and 95% humidity. The bike is bonestock except I drilled the stock cans for some sound and this obviously lowers the back pressure a little, this could account for what I thought were slightly higher baseline numbers. I know less BP increases HP and lowers Torque to a point but the A/F line looks pretty good so I could not have changed things too much.

She topped out at 189mph in 4th, yes I know it's not realistic (No wind resistance). Man do these bikes sing at anywhere over 9K rpms. Nobody hanging around the trailer believed the numbers for stock, lots of HD guys around.

Time for a TRE, PC3 and Tweaked ECU, exhaust, pairvalve mod etc...

Best run was 164.11HP and 100.17 ft lbs.

Well Mr. "Motor Guru". If you know so much about motors and are wishing for speed... THEN WHY DID YOU BUY A BIKE WHERE THE CRANK CASE AND CYLINDER HEAD ARE ONE PIECE?
rock.gif
??? Not too smart on kaw's part. Have fun boring that thing out. Since you brought up Mr. Brock I'll ask you if you are familiar with Mr. Muzzy. Isn't he the performance god for you green guys? Well anyway. He referred to the Hayabusa as the Hemi of motorcycle drag racing. So you have fun with your grill on wheels and we'll enjoy our hemis

Man those are some great numbers for a stocker! I gotta drill my mufflers now.

I want to see more pics of the Lobster though.

The kaw is still fugly, and on the avatar subject, I think we should all go back to the one with Rub and the wig!

thanx for the info Fate , a close friend got a ZX14 , i ride a few times and in fact i didn't like the bike .

My avatar full size...

That is a 12oz. beer. The beast was 29.5 inches long. I'll try to find the full set of pics.

A $3 ticket...

The fire I boiled it over. I had to quarter it to fit it into the pots.

I live on a lake, everybody has a fire pit. Mine is just a little more elaborate... I only use the grate for lobster and corn. You get a wicked strong boil on that sucker. The Lobster didn't even slow it down.

The claw was 7mm thick, I had to use a 2# hammer to crack it.

the zx-14 dynoed is a friend of mine. he had an 06 busa and the 06 14. after racing the 14 for a few weeks, he sold the busa. i love my busa but the 14 is a faster bike at the track. they are running low 9's with very little mods. displacement is the key to et, besides rider. this particular 14 is running 9.6's lowered and airshifter. no other mods
