Good point. Very unlikely, but I will take out my rubber hammer and hit the ignition a few times while the engine is running.

OK. I'd like to report some progress. Afther the shakedown test where nothing shutdown the engine, I decided to re-confirm that the problem still existed. So, over a period of a couple of weeks I went three times on the same short 10 mile route - and not a single hickup.
So, more and more it looks like there is/was a bad contact in some of the connectors which I did move and shake during my garage testing. I will still keep riding when I can trying to reproduce the problem, but in the meantime I will open every connector, spray with a contact cleaner, stick dialectric grease in there and re-connect back.
On a side note, nothing like going for a 10 min ride hours before the snowstorm. Who cares if it's 28 degrees. It feels so good to be on the bike.
Oh, and I pulled my back muscles a couple of days ago, still not perfect, but I wanted to ride so badly - even for 10 min.
