So to bring this one back from the dead, icemann, my 6k hi beam bit the dust at 5AM on my way to work. It lasted about two years i guess. I never was impressed with the hi beam output. Almost like lens and bulb combo wasnt right (which makes sense since its an HID in a standard lens setup) as in it wasnt focused enough or the lens was difusing the intensity. Anywho, since i need a new hi bulb, any thoughts on what could be done to give me the better light at-distance that im looking for? I have considered polishing some aluminum to a mirror finish and opening the hi housing and installing a homemade reflector..? I commute on poorly lit country highways, so my hi beam is valuable.
