Evo Vs. a GSXR 600 cc Street Bike on the Jersey Turnpike.....

I wonder how a stock busa would fair against that car? ill bet it would be closer then most think from a hiway roll. I wouldnt say Evos go 10's on a regular basis but there are certainly plenty of em around

ive know of 20+ 10 second evos they are deffinately a great platform to build from

Yea I contempleted an Evo build a couple years ago but after having a 6 cylinder turbo car for over a decade I just couldnt bring myself to build a 4 cylinder one. my next build will likely be the new Mustang or an LSX platform. those little 4 bangers take some serious abuse tho

It said the evo ran a 12.1, thats still fast for a street car. The 600 is an 03, so new it was rated at 115hp. I can see a low 12 second car walking it on the highway. That evo raced a cbr1k(08+) and got walked, bike even let him get a car or so ahead before he even got on it.

my buddys E55 AMG ran a 12.2 and made about 500 hp. and he beat quite a few bikes on the hiway. that car was a blast to drive on the street. luxury with good power. chit, the new mustang will go 10's with bolt ons. but the Evo is AWD and thats a great thing to have if its ur DD in this neck of the world.

Our bikes stock will get walked from a roll by a car with 500+ to the wheels, any car pushing 1k or better to the wheels will wear out anything less than a pro-street bike from a dig IF it can hook. Our advantage is power to weight, cars have much better aeros above 100 mph.
When you say "our bikes stock" are you referring to a stock Busa? Absolutely, positively not happening. Its going to tale MUCH more than 500whp in a car to pull a stock Busa from a roll. Been there, done that so many times Ive forgotten lol. My bonestock Gen2(Im 220lbs suited)ran away from a Switzer built Porsche 997tt putting down 700whp,from the dig, from a roll doesnt matter. Porsche owner also has a modded R35 GTR that puts down 585awhp and runs 10.0s@ 136 it was not even close running my stock Gen2 which trapped 144mph(stock exhaust, gearing, etc)from a dig or from a roll. Now if you said a car that puts down 800whp&weighs 3300lbs will walk a stock Busa *maybe* I'd believe that, but 500whp aint doing it ;) I could easily see that Evo in the vid destroying that 600 like it did if the rider weighs over 200lbs. 600's need to be geared to pull a car like that&even then its a crap shoot.

And as far as 1000whp car destroying all I beg to differ as well;AMS recently built their Alpha12 R35 GTR which puts down 1300whp..it ran a best of 8.97@ 169mph(w a 1.6 60 so it was hooking);the quickest Lambo,a1500whp UGR Nera ran 9.1@ 169..there are literally hundreds of daily driven bikes that will have zero problems lining up against a car like that from the dig&winning in a 1/4mi run.

BTW,I had both an E55&a W211 E63(still holds the bonestock record on Dragtimes.com 11.95@ 118mph :)) I ran my buddy out on Ocean Pkwy with his 04 GSXR750 from a 40roll&I hung with him for all of 2seconds until he ran away from me in my E63. I run cars all the time on my bikes, only cars that I wont beat from a hiway pull are the monster Underground Racing TT Lambos that put down 1300-1500+whp..but thats why Im building a turbo GSXR-1000;and even then I still think Id lose lol

I have been fortunate enough to have owned a C6 Z06 and a Shelby GT500 making 505 and 550hp. The Busa spanks them hands down, no contest what so ever. From a dig, roll on, what ever..no contest. If you are walking off from a Busa with a 500hp car you need a new pilot on the Busa.

From a slow roll or in high speed runs? My point is that bikes have crappy aeros compared to cars, from 100 (maybe 125) on up, cars have the advantage. The big difference in the cars you guys described and what I was referring to is that you are talking about are true street cars, I was meaning race cars with street tires and license plates. 2500 lbs or so. Why anyone would have a TTG or similar built and go drag race it is beyond me. They ain't drag cars and it makes the owners look like total D-bags. There are streetable D/R cars all over that will run over them for much less money.
And yes when I say our bikes I mean a stock Busa. This is a Busa site still ain't it?
I don't wanna internet race with you guys, I just know what I've seen. Glad you guys have such fast stuff, or maybe all the one's I've seen are slow, or maybe nobody around here (me included) can ride.
If anyone thinks they can run over a 1k hp race car with a stock bike (or anything less than a prostreet for that matter) I'm happy to bet timeslips or arrange a lil get together. We will be all over the mid-south this year.

I've learned a new term "internet race" I like that one. I wouldn't take that bet with a 1000hp car.

Sorry,I must have missed where you said "race car" in the post I qouted you. I thought we were discussing "street cars" since the video posted is a street car and not a race car. I don't run into too many race cars on the street so I really can't comment on that subject but I have run several 800-1000whp+ "street cars" on D/R's (Porsches,Vettes,GTR's,Vipers etc)but not on a stock bike since nothing I own stays stock for too long. Not internet racing at all,I was just sharing my opinion&facts about cars I have ran on the street. A 1000hp dedicated 1/4mi drag car is another story entirely

The kind of cars I was referring to are "street" cars in name only. Race cars with DOT tires and a plate. That's what I consider a street car for the purposes of my post. Thought that was understood. If you showed up at the street races I've been to with a true street car you either didn't race or went home broke
Internet racing, keyboard racing, bench racing, all the same thing.
The car I'm involved with is an out and out race car, no street pretenses whatsoever. I do know how much power it makes, what it weighs and what numbers it will run. Believe me when I tell you anything less than a pro-street bike don't want no part of a 1k whp, 2500lb "street" car, IF it can hook. They make VHT every day, it's been known to show up on the street sometimes.....

I'm not an internet racer, never have been. I prefer to race in real life....
I have won many races I shouldn't have, and lost many I shoulda won. I've seen guys with cars and bikes turn in performances waaay slower than what it ran "on paper", that's why I don't listen to what people say about how fast their stuff is (or slow for that matter, I've been sandbagged before...lol). Only way to win a race is get out there and do it. Win some, lose some, just don't gamble more than you can afford to lose.
