I just loosen the bottom and side to change the filter. I do not take the side fairing completely off...below is my old black 19. I am soon due to do a second oil and filter change on my grey 19. at 1500 miles.

I used to do the same with my 09. For my 15 Busa I removed it because the filter was extremely tight from the factory and I couldn't get the leverage I needed, but from now on I should be able to use this method as I hate completely removing the fairing.
