Fastest Color, Slowest Rider

Hello to all you members.
After seeing a Busa for the first time several years ago, I knew I'd have to have one. I hadn't ridden for the last 25
years. My last motorcycle was a silver '79 CBX which was stolen (damn, I loved that bike). My parents did not like motorcycles, so I did not buy another one. However, they are no longer around so the guilt factor is resovling.
Purchasing my Busa was an impulse buy. I was scared to ride it home from the dealership and had them trailer it to my garage the same day I purchased it. I trepidly rolled it onto my driveway and started it up. I was having a bad case of buyer's remorse. I gingerly drove it around my neighborhood (very little traffic and no cops on a regular basis).
I am 5'6 in height and weigh 155 lbs. I was afraid to come to a stop as the balls of my feet just made it to the ground. That problem was resolved by having the seat foam replaced which lowered my seat height so that I can be firmly planted at a stop.
I took the MSF course and got my motorcycle endorsement. (It's nice to ride legally). The course was invaluable for a new or rusty rider, plus you get to use their 250 cc bikes. I would be hardpressed to do a figure 8 on my Busa in their alloted space for the manuever.
Anyway, buyers remorse is significantly reduced. I ride very conservatively and try to obey the speed limits. Cops are plentiful in these parts and love to write tickets. Lots of bad drivers in S FL, and ride as if everyone is out to hit me.
I love the amount of information to be had on this forum, and the members are so friendly. My only complaint is that I spend so much time viewing these forums that my Tivo is full

Congrats and welcome! :welcome: That buyer's remorse decreases rapidly when you reach the triple digits! Glad you are enjoying it and taking it careful. Lowering the bike can also help you be at ease with maneuvering the bike around. And before the pic popo come around you should go ahead and post 'em up. :rulez:

:welcome: and congrats!

Re: Buyers Remorse: I had something similar...not so much about buying the bike as spending the money. I HATE that part. But I love the bike! :cheerleader:

Post up those pics quick! Before the Enforcers find out about you! :rulez: ;)

Welcome!
