I did 160 mph in a '73 vette big block (ls4 I believe) On a 35mph road, took longer to stop then get up to 160. Just barely made the stop sign
Hey WAG.. I also had a buddy who had a cosworth vega. That was a short term blast. Something broke everytime we took it out. He gave up on it and sold it to a collector.
I take everything that I own or rent up to top speed to see what it'll do and if it will handle doing it over and over again! Here's a picture of the '07 Corvette. I took it up to 172mph and took a picture for those that doubt. Unfortunately it was rev limited. It was still pulling strong and would've attained a much higher speed. I also had plenty of road left since it got there so quickly. Just call me Speed Demon
Been in the 210 range before in 05 C6 that made 1000 at the tires, but we have a new shop project here that should be some fun.Its an 06 Z06 with a couple small turbos, lol.Sorry for the poor quality pics.
140+ in my old 93 Honda Prelude. Speedo read 140 and it was buried more than a couple times. But let me tell ya it took a pretty good stretch of road to reach 130 or more. Anything below that though it'd get there fairly quick for the little 4 banger that is was.
me personally i have only been to about 140 or so in my 89 lx stang with 351 windsor swap but my buddy has a 97 nissan 240 sx with a turbo kit 7,000 rpm in 5 th gear comes out to 167 mph so that is his max he said it felt like going 80mph stable as can be id never take that ride with him........................
Went 180 mph + in the May 2005 Silver State Classic in my stock 1991 ZR-1 Corvette. These time trials are held on a closed road called Highway 318 in Nevada. This race has been held twice a year for the last 20 years. It is 90 miles of shear driving nirvana !
To bad they don't let bikes run, or, at least Hayabusa's
The world record on that public highway # 318 is 207mph ... Several cars have run in the 220+ zone for a short period... Keep in mind this is all at high altitude
