FI light came on?

Sorry Busbusa, got side tracked.I ordered my Suzuki service manual from MOTOCOM.COM.I think that I paid 68.00 US dollars for it.It will help you better understand your BUSA.I'm sure they will ship to you...

Thats how my manual states it?While not having the shorting switch or the proper millivolts the bar code and a jumper will suffice. Hey nuts whats omitted? While not claiming to be a Hayabusa tuning expert ,I do calibrate process instrumentation for a living.I work with Mv,Ma current loops, digital imposed data loops.I think I can handle a wiper type resistance loop.My bike hasn`t blown up yet.Do you have the service department put air in your tire also?

C-OO will never occur. At 1100 RPM -c00 is the correct value. As usual Cheese is right a poorly calibrated TPS will not turn the FI light on. Keep a paper clip in your tool pouch. When the FI light comes on pull over but don't shut down. Stick the paper clip in the dealer mode connector. Find it under the left side of the seats between the frame and the fairing. If the code is anything other than C00 or c00 it's pointing to a problem. You may see two codes alternately flashing. If your still under warranty take it to your trusty dealer. If not get a shop manual to explain the code or submit it here. We'll look it up for you.

If you want a pros like Cheese or Motorhead to give you free advice, be as specific about the problem as you can. Mileage on bike, engine temp, last service, etc.

Motorhead. Your right , if the tach is as accurate as the speedo we need to use another tool. I have a Fluke Scopemeter with a RPM measuring feature on it, but I don't know where to hook it up to. The Fluke manual shows it measuring rpm using a current probe. On a cage I would hook it around a spark plug wire. Where on a Busa?

Rguy,

I thought your info was complete. You don't need the dealer mode switch to do it. Make your own if you want to.

Something I noticed on the last Busa I set TPS on. The indicator was in the middle @ idle, but when you rev'ed it up to 3-4K, and let it come down, the indicator was now high. The setting was a little "high" in the "window", and the throttle butterflies must hang a little from all the intake vacuum. I adjusted the TPS back a little and bike runs sweet, no more off idle stumble.

Who do you work for? I design test fixtures for process control devices @ Analog in Norwood.

Solutia ,formerly Monsanto.Provox and T.I. PLC`s and process instrumentation with motor control/electric`s background.Everything from nuclear density , mag/mass flow,Dp cells, ultrasonic&sonar&radar levels.RTD`s ,thermocouple and infrared temps. Also calibrate Total carbon and alc analizers. Most of our newer stuff is HART protocall. The Smart handheld units and the Fluke 744`s have made life much easier.Trying to get into the Full spectrum gas jobbies but there a big secret around here.I wasn`t bitching at you cheese, lol you do bikes for a living I do instrument loops. While my loops are a hell of a lot more involved and have more data flow than 12,000 busa`s CPU`s could flow it`s just a loop on a smaller scale.

OK cheese, I read another post.I just didn't like your language.Hell,I was just trying to help.I admit my wording was wrong. Will not happen again.Sorry to all that my have been mis informed...

O goodness me, don't mean to upset you this early JC. Suzuki manual,section4 page30.Yes your right what i should have said is large cap with the minus sign on top and bottom of code C00 is incorrect according to my manual. By no means do I want to get in a war of words with anyone about the BUSA.I admit that I don't know that much.Thats why I bought the manual and suggest in my opinion that every BUSA owner should get one. Please don't let this make you leave again...

Well after all this talk and mind mending chat! I ordered a copy of the service manual today, as I guess it would give me more direct answers.
But thanks anyway guys for all your input and pointing me in the right! Or was left direction!

Gee EC I didn't know you cared I am sorry I got the flu bug yesterday afternoon I still feel like sh*t but I will try to post today Did not go to work If anyone from labusas are reading I can not get info till I go back.Sorry I won't be much help today blah

BusBusa,

I hope you found the answer you were looking for in all this.

Hey folks, when the commercial said, "A mind is a terrible thing to waste.", this is what they were referring to.

Yea I'm back,I can't help it. What can a motorcycle service techinican tell me about life.Hell, never mind...

Well the FI light came on again today! So with out stopping the engine I flipped the Mode switch and got this code - C27 (with the bar/dash at the top)? Any of you guys know what this means?
This is the 3rd time that the light has come on in the last 3 months! But it only seems to happen when I have the PCII connected in conjunction the very hot days 40*C! When I run the bike for long periods with out the PCII connected and it never happens??
