Finally conquerin' my "bad side"....

I've been battlin' a weak right side lean issue since buyin' Train way back when. My right chicken strip has ALWAYS been visibly wider than my left. Finally after a LOT of workin' at it and technique changin' I've got 'em virtually even. I'm also almost as comfortable goin' hard right as I am hard left.

I'm not quite fully equal in confidence both ways as you can see by the fact that the "chewing" from bein' on throttle while leaned is still a bit further inboard on the right, but I'm gettin' there. I have no idea why I favored left handers from the get go but I can tell you that it has been a tough issue for me to tame.

I guess I've made the most progress since I started slidin' off the seat a little and deliberately pointin' my knee out on whichever side I'm leanin' into even when I'm not ridin' hard. I guess deliberately exageratin' those movements equally both ways a little helped me get into the habit of doin' things the same for both directions.

Anyway, here's a pic I'm very proud of at this point. Not because of the size of the strip, but rather because of the fact that it's as close to the edge as the left one! The best part is that I didn't get it there by purposefully tryin' to get it over that far. I got it there by just ridin' the hell out of my bike and workin' to eliminate my favoritism for the left handers. I earned it instead of cheatin' it over there in a parkin' lot or somethin.

well, just stay safe while tamin that beast, bro...

I can honestly say that I loved hittin both sides of the tire...always felt really good...

I think its a natural thing based on body dominance. Right-handed folks prefer left-handed sweepers and left-handed folks prefer right-handed sweepers. Just takes some work to get used to and comfortable going the other way.

Yeah, well, it took me a LOT of work to overcome it. I'm still not 100% to the right but I'm much better. I just hope the off roadin' I done doesn't set me back too much mentally. I plan on slowin' down after that but I hope it doesn't make me too gun shy on blind corners. I knew they need respect but I don't need another fear to conquer...

Part of the problem is the throttle is on the right.
Hard to push & maintain proper throttle control.
Hence the shallower right lean angles.

Most people I have ridden with favor one over the other. I havent seen any noticeable pattern with any of them, I just think it is just a preference..

I like them both and no chicken strip on either side on the H2 I used end of last year.

i'm right handed, i tend to lean to the right further for some reason, just seems like i can control the throttle better

Sure Pac.....make us look like rookies will ya

No no no....didn't mean it that way, ya nut!

My apologies, peeps...didn't mean to make myself sound like some kinda glorified rider...

Just meant to say that I love to go both ways....

Wait a minute...this is coming out wrong. All horribly wrong...

I just meant to say that it feels pretty good to lean on both sides...no riding skill judgement intended or meant.
