Thanks for all the help guys.

my best guess was the po screwed something up and had no clue how to diagnose and got over his head.
traded me for an uneven trade thinking the bike was fubar just to get out of it.

I threw a new set of plugs in shortly before I fixed the vacuum line issue. the coil on cyl 1 seems to not have a good "grip" on the plug. Ive been working waaaaay too much to check it out at this point but I plan on it next time I can make it to the garage. got pics coming in just a min

theres what it looked like before I tore it down and what it looks like currently. id be doing better if I could get the tips to line up or at least come close lol
