I've never dropped a bike while coming to a stop or at a standstill, but tonight (just 5mins ago) I had a close call. I came to a stop at this gas station/conv. store I always go to and pulled to a quick stop and dropped the kickstand... and my left foot slipped and whoooooaaaa.... I leaned her over very slowly... but saved it. Luckily I've got strong legs and didn't panic. A couple black guys standing there even went "whoa!" as I kept it from hitting the ground. Afterwards, we all were laughing about that close call! Plus, I was parked on a slight hill leaning left. But the bike is still perfect and my streak is still alive! haha!
whew! It was my fault for trying to dismount too fast. I need to keep it slow and concentrated like I normally do. But I was in a hurry... and I would have been pissed off if I had scratched the bike with less than 150 miles on it all because I was in a hurry to get in the store to buy cigarettes! Maybe I should just quit smoking!!!
