After searching for a few weeks to find one, waiting 5 days for it to arrive at my front door (with dead battery) and 4 more days of waiting to get my new battery I finally got the Busa out for a decent ride. Did 100 miles on her today. Yesterday was much nicer weather here in IL but I had to wait for the new battery to charge.
All I can say is that I am so glad I got rid of my ZX-10R and RC51. Also glad I didnt use the money to buy a GSXR1000. I have been riding for 16 years and this is the first bike that I have ever owned that is perfect for me in all stock trim. Only thing I want to change about the bike at the moment is the springs. They are to soft for me. Other than that this bike blows me away. The power, handling, riding position, transmission, and even the OEM exhaust note is just unbelievable.
I am sure by next year I will be wanting a full exhaust system but for now there is something about the quiet exhaust and smooth engine when cruising along that I like. Plus once I crack the throttle the exhaust has just enough of a low growl to keep me satisfied for now.
Anyone that says that a Hayabusa doesn't handle well is either never riden one, can't ride anyway, or is just a flat out liar. Only problems I am having with the handling at the moment is getting use to how smooth this bike is at speed. I was coming in a little to hot on the curves all day. Once I get the new springs, get use to the smooth power and some Pirellis on this beast she should handle like she is on rails.
I guess it could be that me and the busa are both just big so we work well together..
