First post, turbo build, not new to power (have a Gen 1)

plz tell me ur NOT using stock cans! they look like absolute shiit! all that beautiful tin work and stock cans? that makes absolutely no sense at all. there is nothn mean lookn about stock cans. u shud re-think that.

Thanks folks!

I'm using stock cans (gutted) and having custom flanges water jetted.

I am going for a subtle but mean look. Low key..ish. Lol

With all that expensive welding done maybe he doesn't have money left for expensive exhaust.

Did you miss the part about being Low-Key?

Everyone is entitled to their opinion - Maybe he likes stock cans? At least the Gen I cans look 10 times better then the stock Gen II cans. Again IMO.

Ding! Lol money isn't an issue. I like the lines of the stock cans. I also want a lower key setup.

I'll post more pics later.

Some may not like my approach but not everyone will. I think the stock cans are correctly sized with the bike (IMO) I even bought new ones. Stock ones had some scratches on them) LOL Like I said, money isn't an issue. I also bought new OEM farings. (My old ones are for sale and are pretty nice shape. Minor scratches. (bought these since I am clearing the entire bike)

More progress.

The way I look at it is, lots of nice parts slightly poking through the bike like the gate dumps and exhaust on right side making it slightly aggressive but also subtle with the cans and stock wheel base..

No point in that, when you've got BOV and big o'l filter sticking out the side...

If everything was hidden, sure....but you may as well go aftermarket just to drop some weight!

When you get it on the dyno test with and without the stock cans....see what kind of difference you get.

Cans are light actually. I am 175 unsuited, so guessing 185 total. (not worried about weight) :) Here is a start up from last night. :beerchug:

lol there is nothing LOW-KEY about a Turbo Filter hanging out off the side of a bike along with a BOV. if being LOW-KEY was the idea then he shud hav gone with a filter that is hidden behind the fairing along with a BOV.

low-key or not the stock cans look like shiit! all that beautiful tin work with stock cans shud be illegal....

Stock cans, stock mudflap, signals is generally removed. The cans imo balance the bike out. Ugly is a relative term. The filter inside won't have air flow therefore it's outside.

Like I said, relative term. Someone's wife might be hot to them but to others she's a butter face.

If I wanted to change the cans, I could since I have v bands, BUT I'M NOT. I just purchased brand new cans. :p

The most refreshing , unabridged post I have seen on here in many years!(a decade?) Had to do a double take. That BOV is off the hook,as far as I know never been done like that(probably very effective too!). The exhaust is pure unadulterated ART.
Killer build, have not seen this kind of work since SEB,MH ETC. Duel exhaust= ANTI ESTABLISHMENT :moon: THE establishment, doing it the way you want too.:cheerleader:
I have been down this same road, most do not even consider mine a true turbo bike as it only has 221 RWHP 139 FT# TORQUE:laugh:.OH I also have a full exhaust???. Granted I concede I wanted 3 more # of boost within a few months:thumbsup::laugh:.
Yet it has 51,000 plus miles on it,never an issue. Touring bike(800 MILE DAY 2-UP WITH LUGGAGE) LSR AT 48,000 MILES, Stock comp. intercooled, turboed at 23,000 miles ETC.

Blah blah blah from the usuals (THE only ones) on here:banghead:. THIS PLACE IS A FORMER SHELL OF IT SELF.Still respect the site(cap is KOOL, SEMI,VA kudo's), but I just come back mostly for laughs, from the EGO flexing and the elitest mentality .
Nice to see a free thinker around here for a change. Thanks for giving us plebes HOPE that all is not lost.:beerchug: Enjoy that bike, it is what this hobby is all about!, individuality.:please:

That is some awesome looking fab work on the exhaust!

Probably to late, but I remember reading that a filter inside the body work will flow enough for 500HP.

Until I saw the cans on there, I was skeptical..but it looks dang good!

I LOVE the welds on the pipe fab

-D

That's your opinion. You're entitled to that. As you quoted, stock cans, signals and mudflap is stock ish. I've said that twice now. 3 times now including this post.

I never once said stock look. It was stock "ish ". Maybe read again. Or maybe it's late? :p

By a mile, nope, it's close.

I like it.

Any idea when you will have it all together so we can see the whole bike and maybe another video with the cans hooked up?
